Therapist Recommendation📚

Have you ever noticed patterns in your relationships — like pulling away when things get close, or feeling worried about being left? Understanding our attachment styles can be a powerful first step toward healthier connections.

Peggy Gross, LMHC, LCAC (Westfield Office), recommends the book Attachments by Dr. Tim Clinton for anyone wanting to better understand how early experiences shape the way we relate to others today.

“Clinton explains attachment in a way that feels practical and hopeful. It helps people recognize patterns without shame — and shows how growth and healing are possible.”

Peggy works with adults and couples, supporting clients navigating:
✔️ Anxiety & depression
✔️ Trauma & PTSD
✔️ Addictions
✔️ Personality & mood disorders (including bipolar)
✔️ OCD, social anxiety, and panic
✔️ Relationship challenges

Her therapy style is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on helping clients gain insight, build coping tools, and create meaningful change.

If you’re ready to better understand your relationships — with yourself and with others — exploring attachment might be a great place to start. 💛

Peggy is currently accepting new clients and would be honored to walk alongside you. https://www.thecabin.org

What to Try When Motivation Is Low 🌿

If you’ve been waiting to feel motivated before you start… you’re not alone.
But here’s a gentle truth: motivation usually comes after action, not before it.

When you take even the smallest step, your brain gets a signal:
“I’m doing something.”
That creates momentum. And momentum is what grows motivation.

So instead of asking, “Do I feel ready?”
Try asking, “What’s the smallest thing I could do right now?”

A 1-Minute Grounding + Small-Step Exercise

Try this wherever you are:

Put both feet on the floor.

Take one slow breath in through your nose, and a long exhale out your mouth.

Look around and name 5 things you can see.

Now choose one tiny action related to what you’re avoiding —
open the document, stand up, sip water, send one text, write one sentence.

That’s it. You’ve started.

And once you start, motivation has a way of quietly showing up.

You don’t need to feel ready — you just need to take one small step.

January is Mental Wellness Month, a time to honor emotional care, healing, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going — especially when life feels uncertain.

Dr. Angelou’s words remind us that we are not meant to walk through this world alone. Support — whether from a loved one, a therapist, or a caring community — can hold us steady when we feel overwhelmed.

At The Cabin, we believe everyone deserves a place to land and access to compassionate mental health care, regardless of their circumstances.

Caring for your mental well-being isn’t a weakness.
It’s an act of courage, trust, and self-preservation.

You are allowed to stumble.
You don’t have to fall alone. 🤍

“My hand is at the small of your back; I may let you stumble, but I will never let you fall.” — Maya Angelou

January is Mental Wellness Month, a time to honor emotional care, healing, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going. Dr. Angelou reminds us that we are not meant to navigate life alone — that support, love, and compassion can hold us steady even when we falter.

Caring for our mental well-being is not a weakness. It is an act of courage, trust, and self-preservation.

You are allowed to stumble. You are never meant to fall alone. 🤍

Start your Monday with intention.
Breathe in confidence. Exhale doubt.

A new week is an opportunity to reset, refocus, and take one small step toward growth and wellness. You don’t have to do everything today — just begin. 🌿

If you need support along the way, we’re here.

Therapist Spotlight 🌿 — Now Accepting New Clients

We’re excited to introduce Caroline Maymon, BS — Intern, serving our Zionsville & Westfield offices and specializing in support for teens (12+) and young adults.

Caroline is passionate about creating a safe, encouraging space where young people can talk openly about what they’re going through — without fear of judgment. She works with clients navigating:
✔️ Anxiety & depression
✔️ Stress
✔️ School & relationship struggles
✔️ Self-esteem & body-image concerns
✔️ Eating disorders

“Therapy is the mirror in which we face our brokenness not as flaws, but as the threads that weave us into wholeness.”

Caroline’s approach is collaborative and supportive. She helps clients process daily struggles, develop healthy coping skills, practice grounding techniques, and build confidence — all while learning new ways of thinking and responding to challenges.

Her background includes psychology, nutrition education, grief group leadership, and ongoing graduate training in social work with a focus on mental and behavioral health. She integrates tools such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, mindfulness, body-positivity/neutrality, and practical nutrition awareness.

If you know a teen or young adult who could benefit from compassionate support, Caroline would love to walk alongside them.
💛 She is currently accepting new clients — reach out to schedule or learn more.

Now Accepting New Clients (Ages 16+ & Adults)

Sadie specializes in supporting individuals navigating chronic illness and cancer, grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, and relationship challenges.

She creates a welcoming, collaborative space where clients can reflect, heal, and grow — using traditional talk therapy and optional art therapy techniques. No art experience is needed; creativity simply becomes another meaningful way to process and express what words can’t capture.

Sadie’s practice is inclusive and supportive of diverse identities and backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, veterans, neurodivergent individuals, and people with disabilities.

New year, same reminder:
Mental health goals don’t have to be big or dramatic.
Sometimes the bravest goal is simply continuing — showing up, resting, asking for help, and taking one small step at a time.
Here’s to a year of progress, not perfection. 💚
