POV: blending functional and finesse techniques gave this patient’s breathing a major upgrade! Small external refinements were just the icing on the cake. 🔥

This all-star patient (and person!) underwent functional nasal surgery including septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and nasal valve repair as well as rhinoplasty for external refinement while preserving and strengthening his strong and masculine profile. This most importantly improved ability to breathe and get better sleep while also allowing for subtle refinements that complement his features and bone structure.

I am always down to talk about ! 👃 Here are some thoughts regarding a recent case. I had the privilege of working with a young patient who had experienced years of trauma to his nose from sports. He came to me not just for cosmetic reasons, but because the injuries were affecting his breathing significantly and affecting his daily quality of life.

I take care of many patients after trauma to the nose, very often in conjunction with sports injuries, and it requires a tailored approach and planning for the challenging anatomy and tissue changes that are present after nasal injury. Restoring strength and stability is key for opening the airway and for it to stay that way long-term. It is so rewarding to be able to help out patients in this way. I am thrilled for this one! He is resilient and made it all look like a breeze.
