In early kidney disease, no symptoms may be present. It is important to have your kidney function tested if you’re at risk.
Important risk factors for kidney disease include diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity, heart disease, a family history of kidney disease, age over 60 years and smoking.
If you’re not sure your kidneys are ok, please get them checked.

Nephrologist at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital Dr. Twanna Browne-Caesar is urging individuals to get their kidneys checked, warning that early-stage kidney disease often presents no symptoms.
