Shanice's baby shower was a fantastic event - we loved seeing one of our adorable JS kids there, too! The countdown to baby J is on, and we are still looking for a new part-time front desk associate to handle some of Shanice's clinic management duties while she is out! (Full disclosure: our standards are wildly high, we have been so spoiled by Shanice and our previous clinic managers!).

This will start as a temporary part-time role with an opportunity to evolve into full-time.

We don't usually announce new team members so far in advance of their start date, but we are especially excited to share this one! 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐲 grew up in St. Croix and volunteered with us several years ago; we are thrilled to welcome her home in late June to join our speech-language therapy team for her first year as an SLP!

Recognize that last name? Her mom, Dana Mackay, was our beloved Community Connections Coordinator before she relocated to SC! Another reason to celebrate this announcement today: it's Dana's Birthday!!

The Mackay family is synonymous with LOVE and kindness. We know Amanda is going to be a fantastic addition to our caring team.

Have we mentioned how much we love hosting graduate students? 😊

This week, we have Daniela & Sierra in St. Thomas and Grace & Ally in St. Croix, all from Creighton University Department of Occupational Therapy (alma mater of Dr. Allisha and Dr. Katie!) - they are joining us for their Level I OT fieldwork. Getting some hands-on experience in our clinics and learning from the best!

Time flies when you're having fun (and making a positive impact)! We can't believe it's already been one year since Dr. Katie joined the team!!

She's accomplished so much in her first year - piloting an adaptive swim program for autistic children, providing clinical supervision for graduate students, and helping so many children achieve their goals while they think they are just here to PLAY!

Dr. Katie epitomizes our core value of Commitment to Excellence: she is constantly learning and growing as a clinician! And she is really nailing the work/play balance of Caribbean life. 😉

Happy 1-year Workaversary, Katie!!

When your mom loves and accepts you so much that she passionately advocates for autism acceptance ... she even writes a book about celebrating neurodiversity! 😍

One of our St. Thomas moms, Jacquelyn Angue, wrote "How I Stim" to foster understanding, encourage empathy, and celebrate the beauty of being yourself. "To every child who stims, May you always feel free to express yourself boldly, unapologetically, and with pride."
