Island Health & Wellness is looking to hire a full-time medical assistant/nurse. Applicants must have at least 2 years’ experience in a healthcare office. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Scheduling appointments and checking patients in, helping with paperwork
• Collecting detailed health history reports for each patient.
• Measuring and recording vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature.
• Assisting with in-office procedures
• Cleaning and sanitizing rooms between patient visits. .
• Collecting urine, stool, and sputum samples for testing.
• Helping patients feel safe and comfortable during procedures if necessary
• Cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment.
• Administering medications and immunizations
• Performing EKG’s
• Drawing blood using proper techniques
• Taking inventory of supplies and reordering when necessary.
• Helping patients with prescription refill requests
• Assisting the medical providers with patient phone calls and questions
• Using Electronic Medical Records
