It is raining in DaNang now. Often rain brings slowness in daily life of DaNang and we feel it is the best time to get your brushes out and paint with the sound of nature. As rain pours down, allow your thoughts to pour out the story they are carrying and document the feeling with strokes of brushes. This kind of painting is not result orientated but pleasure and journey orientated. This type of art practice provides you with a space where you can truly connect with mind, body, spirit and your surroundings. Select colors and motion of your brush by instincts and flow your creativity all over the empty canvas unaffected by the final product but only following the inner self.
Allow the rain to become a chance to self care and self awareness with help of art. Enjoy this season with your favorite colors

We all face days when nothing seems to be clear and yet somehow it is overwhelming. It is times like those that art can bring sense of ease and perhaps a new perspective to perceive the life we live.

Art below is by a lady who was going through similar day as mentioned above.

Wellness with art is proud of her. She allowed herself to express those thoughts through clear symbols and colors which then gave her space to look, understand, detach, and achieve relief.

After 2hours of painting and an hour of chatting/journaling about things that truly matter to her she was all set to go into community and do her bit.

It is beautiful how simple strokes of brush can ease out internal struggle.

Experience wellness with art through appointment. Message now to book your time :)

Yesterday we did session with group of 5 people. 3 out of 5 shared having sensation of headache when they tried to pay attention to their current feeling as they explored connection with colors.

This was first time for us to learn that somebody could get a headache during session which is meant to relax. We kept the session going and asked the participants if they can connect with the pain? They didn't quite understand-how can someone connect with pain. They said they are stressed because they have never painted before and they might do something wrong or they can paint something which might make other fellow laugh at them or they kept looking for some solution or magical lesson to receive immediately from the session.

Towards the end of session while we were aprroaching let go exercise. I asked the participants to write down their heavy thought and drop it in bowl of water. But no one wrote anything neither did they say that they want to let go of the current headache or old thoughts but they kept looking at us to give some solution. Solution to what?

And then we closed the session with some affirmation and breathing exercise.

After breathing exercise they all were feeling better ( headache was gone), more open and energised. They shared moments where they were in flow and was just enjoying the process.

But what left us speechless and puzzled is that-
We gave numerous hints and suggestions to make list of things which are painful or do not serve you on the paper given but no one did.

We asked them if there is any internal thought which might be holding you back perhaps write that down. They said no.

1. If you do not open up to your ownself you can never know your real essence and nature. You would just be running on society's auto pilot mode.

2. When you are open to recognising your thoughts and inner critic then you can accept them and grow from there.

3. As you stay connected and true to your inner self outer world becomes better than it was.

Wellness with arts is a process which reminds you of your natural state of well being. When we paint or indulge in creative process we get in the state of flow. State of flow is your natural best โค

With help of wellness with arts you can access your state of flow and then can bring that state of flow in any and everything you do in your life. Staying flow and rythm becomes your lifestyle which then leads greater happiness and healthier life.

Depression, anxiety, angst, grief and loneliness are a few common struggles and we find hard to discuss/share. We often internalize it all and live life without communicating truly to anyone because we feel no one would understand.

Like many artists in the Johnson Wahl's artworks created while receiving care can be considered ๐’‚ ๐’‡๐’๐’“๐’Ž ๐’๐’‡ ๐’‚๐’“๐’• ๐’•๐’‰๐’†๐’“๐’‚๐’‘๐’š. However, instead of representing her own condition, Gillow's 2001 painting ๐‘ช๐’“๐’‚๐’…๐’๐’† ๐‘บ๐’๐’‚๐’‘ 1 is inspired by the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) the artist witnessed other patients experiencing on the same ward. The loving caress of the hands around the soap, and the 'cradle' of the title, inject a disconcerting note of tenderness into a visceral image of compulsion and suffering.

๐ŸŽจ A similar blend of pain and care is also detectable in ๐‘ท๐’“๐’๐’•๐’†๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’‚๐’“๐’• by ๐‘ฌ๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’† ๐‘ฑ. ๐‘ด. ๐‘ท๐’‚๐’„๐’’๐’–๐’†๐’•๐’•๐’†๐’‚๐’…๐’๐’† ๐‘บ๐’๐’‚๐’‘ 1 (b.1968). One of many works by Pacquette exploring the artistโ€™s first-hand experience of anorexia nervosa, the image combines knowledge of the physical strain the condition has on the body with the desire to nurture and heal.Pacquette's art acts as a window into the lived experience of a mental health condition. This lends it the ability to engender empathy from those without similar experiences, solace for those who do and โ€“ as with many of the artworks discussed above โ€“ a surprising and poignant note of hope.

What is art?

๐ŸŽจ Any art such as painting, sculpture, literature, drama, music are repository of collective memory. Art preserves what facts, records and history can not keep. Art captures what it felt to exist in that particular moment and space. In this way art is communication. It allows people from different culture and times to communicate and make connection. Art is vehicle to social change and sometimes merely a mirror.

๐ŸŽจ Art has influence on opinions and installed values. When we create art we translate the experience across space and time. Art has effect on our fundamental sense of being. Just one look at piece of art can initiate change in current mood or feelings. Perhaps that is why when we feel sad or blue we turn to our favourite songs and movies to get a sense of relief. In this way art is a relief. Art is a change.

๐ŸŽจ When we make art we allow ourselves get in tune with fundamental self which then expresses the content in painting or any other art form. Art is a process of getting in tune with self and a true representation of your existence in that moment and time. Thus it allows to have clear and direct communication and helps in building connections which are more honest and open. As you keep up with inner conflict or emotions art gives you peaceful safe space to access and redirect your mind in the direction you feel fully yourself and thrive. Art is a way to live life fully!

Experience art for what it is without worrying about technicalities with Wellness with arts and begin your journey to bring the inner artist forward.

ART & MINDFULNESS ๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ’–

โ€œArt is a natural way to practice mindfulness. The colors, textures and sounds of creating pull us into the moment. You donโ€™t need any previous training to meditate through art, just a willingness to draw like a child, with freedom and a sense of curiosity.โ€ โ€” Amy Maricle, an artist, art therapist and founder of Mindful Art Studio

No matter how skilled or unskilled you consider yourself, approach your art with a beginnerโ€™s mind: Focus on the process of creating rather than the outcome on the page.

Start by drawing or painting something you see every day, such as your coffee mug, or try doodling a repetitive shape such as circles or triangles. Donโ€™t worry about making it perfect, just settle into the process.

As you get comfortable with this practice, you can work for longer periods of time, but as with any meditation practice, short bursts can feel more comfortable at first.

Pay attention to the experience of drawing or painting through your senses. Notice what the pen, pencil or brush feels like in your hand. Is it cool or warm, smooth or rough, heavy or light? Does it glide easily across the page, or require a bit more pressure to move it?

As you observe your artwork, look at it closely. What is the nature of the lines or brush strokes on your page? Are they smooth or bumpy? Light or dark?

Instead of judging it as good or bad, approach the process of creating art with curiosity and acceptance.

This process allows us to accept our life and choices we make, it also brings new mindset to make different choices to get away from chatting mind and repeative thoughts.
