An interview article with Omi Pharma was published in the [PHARMACY NEWS BREAK] magazine
OmiCare - Ominext Group, the pioneering company in developing the family pharmacist system in Vietnam, has opened the second Omi Pharma store in Hanoi this November.
One of the Japanese Medical magazines - the [PHARMACY NEWS BREAK] interviewed Mr. Tran Quoc Dung (CEO of OmiCare & Ominext Group) as below.

OmiPharma's three main concepts are:
▽ Developing and promoting the Japanese family pharmacist system in Vietnam market.
▽ Offering services applying innovative IT solutions
▽ Japanese-styled customer services and store management
“In Viet Nam, we have not developed the family pharmacist systems like Japan and therefore, we consider the Omi Pharma as model stores to expand that system. To characterize these concepts, we focus on the import and sales of Japanese medicines and healthcare products.
Currently, there are two stores in total, each of which includes four pharmacists. Two pharmacists are in charge of providing health consultations and drug explanations through smartphone apps and website chats. They can also answer questions related to the new Coronavirus infection. Ominext was the first one to have ever operated digital medicine handbook applications in Vietnam. In these stores, we can manage health diagnosis information, OCT drugs, and healthcare products using a sharing database to recommend the purchase of OTC drugs as well as consultations on the app, based on the patients' information and symptoms. Additionally, patients will be able to check the timing of taking medicines, drug residue, medicines information, and purchase drugs as well.
It is said that medical safety and health awareness among the young generation is being raised. With the spread of smartphones, it has become possible to access medical and health information overseas, and the idea of "self-care" that protects one's health has widely expanded. In response to this situation, Mr.Tran stated that "This is an opportunity to develop the Japanese family pharmacist system in Vietnam."
“We expect to spread the benefits of the family pharmacist system to users through physical stores.” - said Mr. Tran. After one year and a half from the opening of the 1st store, we can not yet evaluate how customers' feedback would be. However, the app registered users reached the number of 12.000, and the inquiries via chat exceed more than 1000 sections per month, which was an encouraging result to us.
Our first aim was to increase the number of stores by five more this year. Unfortunately, due to the new coronavirus, the plan was affected that the number had to stop at one. Mr.Tran intends to steadily expand the family pharmacist system on a store basis. “We would like to make use of health data, support for the national preventive medical care, and contribute to the health of society.” - said Mr. Tran with passion.
