Introducing Alice, who recently completed The Mission-Nutrition challenge.

The Numbers:
Deadlift + 15kg
Push-ups + 54%
Waist - 10cm
Bodyweight - 4.65kg

🥕🚀 Alice managed to find habits and a routine that worked for her own lifestyle.

📸 Safe to say… She had some amazing results!

😆We went from not looking at the scales in week 1 to eyes locked on and high fives in week 8. We were also happy that she has fallen back in love with running after a bit of a hiatus!

🚀🥕 Congrats and thanks to this small group of big achievers! 🚀🥕

These 6 achieved a lot between them:

⬇️ 15kg Bodyweight
⬆️ 57kg in Deadlift
➕ 63 push-ups
➕35 pull-ups
and 68cm from various parts of their bodies.

I’m looking forward to sharing some of the most impressive before/after pictures I’ve ever been a part of...

As always with this process, the changes I like the most are the ones I see from within.

🗣 The people around you will always have their opinions on changes you’re making in life. Whether that’s deciding to change jobs, taking some time away from alcohol or a finding new love interest.

As science suggests, and I can say from my own experience, we seem to care at least to some extent how our best friends and family react and feel about our actions and relationships. While these opinions can and should offer an opportunity for a new perspective, it’s important not to allow them to dictate your actions and beliefs.

😌 We aren’t saying to shut them out of your life, but we are saying don’t let their definitions of success, happiness or what’s “normal” dictate your choices.

Clear out the distractions and external voices and narrow down on where you want to be 6 months from now. Then plot the small, simple tasks you need to do to get there over time.

✨6 months from now you might just have become an inspiration for those around you. A clear and tangible example of someone setting and reaching their goals. Bringing friends along on the journey is a worthwhile and rewarding possibility.

🌧 Sitting wrapped in blankets listening to the rain outside (again), we are struggling to remember when we last saw the sun here in Hanoi, Vietnam. If you’ve been feeling somewhat down in the dumps recently, perhaps it’s a lack of “The Sunshine Vitamin” Vitamin D.

Alongside dietary sources (fatty fish and eggs), Your body produces vitamin D naturally when it’s directly exposed to sunlight. ☀️ This actually accounts for over 90% of the vitamin D requirement for most individuals. Vitamin D has several important functions. Perhaps the most vital are regulating the absorption of calcium and phosphorus and facilitating normal immune system function.

However, research has shown that vitamin D might play an important role in regulating mood and decreasing the risk of depression. 🙇🏼 It has been estimated that over one billion people have either vitamin D insufficiency or deficiency depending on the season. Deficiencies can lead to increased senses of anxiety, depression and can play a role in other more serious mode and mental disorders.

😞 If you are feeling a little low, maybe getting outdoors to exercise whenever the sun does put it’s hat on will help alleviate that sense of despair. 🍣 🥚Failing that consider adding fish and eggs to your diet, or even consider a reputable Vitamin D supplement. You may be surprised at the results. ☀️🙂

🎆Start of a new year and cue all the fitness professionals sh*t-talking NY resolutions. ⁣

The truth is that NY resolutions are powerful, they are an indicator of what’s important to you in the moment.⁣

The point where NYR fail is when they don’t take into account the reality of life. We set ourselves these ambitious and life-changing targets but then priorities change, our focus is needed elsewhere and momentum is lost - quickly! Because of this, it’s now standard procedure for the industry, your friends and even yourself to write NYR off completely. It’s difficult to maintain the challenge of change when you’re also dealing with the stressors of life. At MN, we provide clients with the skills to live healthier and make better nutritional choices in the midst of a normal, complicated life and real-life conditions. WE believe goal setting is the foundation to making change.⁣

But here’s some things YOU can do for yourself without our help:⁣

🤏🏾 Start small and scale from there. Set an almost embarrassingly easy goal… “I will walk for 10 minutes, 3 times a week”. One you’ve completed a week or two of that, add another day or add 5 minutes to each day. Build MOMENTUM⁣

👯 Find an accountability buddy. Find someone in your circle with a similar goal and check in with each other. Plan to meet up for workouts and walks. Ask each other what you’re doing for dinner. There’s power in numbers.⁣

🤦🏽‍♂️ Don’t be hard on yourself if you miss a day. Real-life is hard, sometimes things come up, sometimes we aren’t feeling ourselves - go easy on yourself. On the days where you’re struggling, DO ONE THING that you can be proud of on that day. ⁣

3️⃣ Three simple rules which will hopefully help you to navigate this weird and wonderful world we live in!⁣

Our best advice on all of this is to seek professional guidance - that’s us by the way! IF you need or want help and support at any point this year. Just ask. ☺️⁣
