📢Dr. Chhim Sarath - AHF Asia Bureau Chief gave some speeches at the WAD 2025 event in Vietnam:
"Even though we have made a lot of changes and success at the global and national level, HIV remain challenges:
📌 Over 40 million people live with HIV worldwide.
📌More than half are women and girls.
📌Every day, around 2,000 new HIV infections are recorded, many among young people.
📌Stigma and discrimination persist in families, communities, and healthcare settings.
📌These barriers make it harder for people to access testing, treatment, and support services.
🆘“The World AIDS Day reminds us that HIV/AIDS IS NOT OVER”
The Asia stands at a pivotal point in the HIV/AIDS response:
📌Rising infections among key populations show the fight is far from won.
📌Governments must prioritize prevention, testing, and treatment for all.
📌No community should be left behind.
📌Funding gaps are emerging due to changes in the geo-economic landscape.
📌Sustained action is vital to finally end AIDS in the region.
AHF’s commitment:
✅Remain firm in supporting the country Government
✅Share knowledge and offer technical assistance.
✅Sustain and replicate successful models of prevention, testing, and collaborative ART clinics.
📢I would like to call all leaders, providers, and partners also to promote condoms for dual protection: controlling the explosive spread of STIs/HIV and preventing unwanted pregnancies.
💝Finaly, I would like to take this opportunity to thanks the government of Vietnam, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Security, other government departments, hospital & NGO parters for your cooperation and support. I wish you all with all the best and success."
