The Vennimala Lakshmana Temple is another attraction in this village. This is situated on hill and beilved that Rama and Lakshmana visit this place during their search for Seeta. Cheraman Perumal illustrated emperor of ancient Kerala consecrated this temple and stayed in this place. The temple celebrates twenty Eight days of annual festival every year. The place also was the residence of Tekkumkoor dynasty. Vennimala is covered by lush green vegetation and rubber plantations. There were numerous big and small fresh water ponds this hill. Even today there are nearly a dozen well preserved ponds scattered in the area that have sparkling fresh water even in the hottest summer. Another major attraction here is a huge cave on one side of the hill, half a km from the temple. It is believed that this cave, runs for over a kilometer to the temple premises, though it has been closed by fallen rocks.

Margam Kali
Besides this Artforms like "Margam Kali" have rich roots in this village (Margam Kali is an art from popular among the Syrian Christian community of the eastwhile Travancore. This consists of group dances and martial arts like parichamuttu kali. The theme of the songs revolves round the life of St. Thomas.)

Agriculture is the major source of revenue in this place. Coconut, Paddy and Pepper were the major crops cultivated here. However, Rubber is the major cash crop nowadays. The Rubber Board of India has it's major office in this village. There are also other smaller Rubber processing companies.

Puthuppally is the birth place of Veteran Sopanam Musician - Shadkala Govinda Marar. He was born in a house named "Pulikkal Tharavadu" which is near to the famous temple, Vennimala Sri Rama-Laksmana. The Carnatic Musician, Govinda Marar (ഗോവിന്ദ മാരാര്)(1798 - 1843), more famously known as Shadkala Govinda Marar. He was a contemporary of Saint Tyāgarāja and Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma. He was also adept in playing musical instruments like Chenda,Edakka and Thimila. His expertise in singing in six degrees of speed earned him the title Shat Kaala.)
