Health Tips to Pay Attention to During the Lunar New Year (Tet Holiday)
Tet is the most joyful time of the year — but also a period when health can easily be affected 😅. Below are key health issues to pay attention to during the Lunar New Year, presented in a simple and practical way:
1. Eating habits during Tet: Avoid overindulgence
• Limit fatty, fried, and oily foods → they may cause indigestion, high cholesterol, and increased blood pressure.
• Reduce sweets, candies, cakes, and sugary drinks → to prevent weight gain and high blood sugar.
• Eat more green vegetables and fruits, and drink enough water (1.5–2 liters/day).
👉 Tip: Eat slowly, divide meals into smaller portions, and don’t overeat just to be polite 😄

• Do not drink on an empty stomach
• Never drink and drive 🚫
• People with liver disease, stomach problems, cardiovascular disease, or gout should strictly limit alcohol intake.
👉 If you drink: alternate with water and know your limit.

4. People with chronic diseases: Do not be careless
• Take medications regularly — do not skip doses just because it’s Tet
• Bring your medicines when visiting relatives or traveling
• Monitor:
o Blood pressure
o Blood sugar
o Any unusual symptoms (chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, etc.)
👉 A health check-up before Tet is recommended for those with underlying conditions.
