I’m so sorry. I know my last days weren't the same, and I could feel the sadness in your eyes. You deserved more—more play, more joy, more of the puppy I used to be. But as time went on, I wasn’t able to be that for you, and it broke my heart.

FORGIVE ME, MOMMY 😢🐾…

I stayed where you left me… two whole days, on the side of the road. I curled up on this old chair, trying to feel close to your scent, praying you’d come back. The cars rushed by so fast. I was scared, but I didn’t move. I couldn’t. You told me to stay, and I’m a good boy.

Last night, a car stopped. A woman stepped out. She smiled at me and called me gently. She offered me food, but I didn’t eat. She invited me home, but I didn’t go. I barked and whimpered—I was trying to tell her I was waiting for you. I growled when she tried to leash me, trembling so hard I peed myself from fear and confusion. She didn’t understand… she wasn’t you.

But she didn’t give up on me.

She wrapped me in a blanket and whispered soft things I didn’t know I needed. She took me with her—away from the road, away from the waiting. I cried the whole drive. My heart ached with each passing second, thinking you’d come back and I wouldn’t be there.

I didn’t sleep that first night. I threw up. I howled. I scratched at the door. But she was patient. She stayed near. And when the sun rose, I noticed something strange... the way her hand felt when she stroked my head. It reminded me of safety.

Today I ate. Not because I forgot you, but because she fed me with kindness.

Today I slept. Not because I stopped waiting for you, but because she gave me a warm place to dream again.

And today… my tail wagged, just a little. I didn’t mean to. It just happened.

She calls me Milo now. I guess I have a new name. I’m still waiting for you, but she says I don’t have to wait alone anymore.

If you ever come back, mommy, I’ll be here—healthy, loved, and safe. Maybe you weren’t coming back. Maybe you couldn’t. I don’t know why. But I forgive you.

Because now I’ve learned something important:
Sometimes the ones who save us aren’t the ones we wait for. But they still love us all the same. 🐾

This absolute beauty is Ruby 😍 Ruby’s family had a baby and unfortunately the baby has been very poorly and in and out of hospital, and it turns out she is allergic to dogs.
With her original rescue closing down and needing to rehome Ruby in desperation her family reached out to every rescue they could find. None were prepared to take Ruby because she is anxious of strangers. She has never bit anyone and is very loving once she gets to know you. She just needs patient introductions.
This beautiful girl has done nothing wrong and is already losing her family. So we decided to welcome her into ours and we will find her another forever home.
Thank you Golden Paw Club members. That £5 a month is working its magic again 💜
