Introducing our CnB's Riding Skills Check Map 💛✨

👩‍💻Some questions our admin team gets quite a bit now and then :"Can I start riding as a complete beginner?” or “What if I don’t even know how to ride a bicycle?”... A huge yesss and huge shout out for being so brave to start, we celebrate you!

🤔Some other riders can already ride a motorbike back home, but Hanoi feels very different. We call it the local riding language - It’s different in every place, and that’s part of what makes exploring culture more interesting. You understand “một, hai, ba, dô, …” and also slowly get why so many Viets are on their phones while riding (we’re not learning this local riding skill here though haha)

🗺️The point of this riding skills check map is, your starting point can be quite different, and each individual pace is different too.

💅But safety is always sexy, and confidence looks good on anyone ;)

RIDER DIARIES #8 👉 Meet Sergei & Jenna 💛 Opps and our lovely Mia cutely on the group photo this time too

🇺🇸Sergei and Jenna are from Ohio, USA. When they came to Chicks n Bikes, they thought “We want to ride Ha Giang… but Hanoi traffic?.... :( ”

🚦Fair enough though. Hanoi's riding scene can be quite a shock, especially if it’s your first time here, you wander near the Old Quarter, or you accidentally step outside after a football win and everyone’s Đi bão thôiiii 😱

🛵Their main focus was Ha Giang, they were eyeing our 3.5-hour Ha Giang Loop Crash Course - a focused session designed around the skills riders actually need for the loop, without rushing or padding things out.

The aim is simple:
- understand the bike,
- understand traffic behaviour,
- and know what decisions to make on the road.

👀What surprised them was how much changed once those pieces clicked. Even for riding in Hanoi, it went from “no chance” to something both could handle calmly by the end of the session.

🐝This is one of our favourite things to see at Chicks n Bikes! Riders realising they’re more capable than they expected.

👋If Ha Giang loop or riding in Hanoi is on your list but you’re unsure where to start, Sergei & Jenna’s lesson is a good example: you don’t need to be fearless, maybe just the right start.

2025 and The Wins We Didn’t See Coming ✌️

✨As 2025 came to a close, our small but mighty team is taking a moment to celebrate the weird, wonderful, and quietly powerful wins that made this year truly ours.

👀 Some wins were obvious, some were quieter. Every moment counted. Somehow, we kept learning, stumbling, and becoming a little better every single day.

🤝 We feel so lucky to have brave, kind, and adventurous riders as part of our community. You show us how to take the leap, laugh at ourselves, and keep moving forward. Your courage truly inspires us and drives us forward with the mission in rider community.

RIDER DIARIES #7 👉 Discovering Freedom on Two Wheels 💛

🇳🇿 Meet Kiera & Jack! A couple from New Zealand had already explored Vietnam on the back seat of bikes… but something clicked: they didn’t just want to watch, they wanted to ride for themselves!

🇻🇳🇱🇦With a Laos trip coming up, they decided it was time to take control. Neither had ever ridden before, and yes, there were nerves - which is completely normal!

🛵After just two group lessons, they went from beginners to confidently handling automatic bikes and riding in moderate Tây Hồ traffic

💪From hesitant first tries to controlled turns, they discovered the freedom of riding firsthand.

🐝What made this journey special? Their focus, teamwork, and willingness to push past fear. By the end, they were already dreaming of coming back to learn semi and manual bikes.

On September 2, 1945, at Ba Đình Square, President Hồ Chí Minh declared the independence of Vietnam. Today marks 80 years of resilience, unity, and the relentless pursuit of freedom. 💪🏼💪🏼

In Hanoi, the streets may be closed, but the energy is unstoppable! Every flag, every cheer, every gathering carries the same spirit that once lit the way for a nation.🇻🇳

At Chicks n Bikes, we live by that same spirit. Riding a motorbike is more than moving through traffic, it’s overcoming challenges, embracing freedom, and moving forward with courage. Just like Vietnam’s journey, every ride is proof that the road may not always be easy, but the destination is always worth it! ❤️💛

ROAD BUDDY REVEAL #4 ➡️➡️ Meet… Tom!

“Do you teach men?” Is a FAQ at CnB- and yes, we absolutely do!

Between 2020-2023, we averaged a maximum of 30% male riders. And while we are a brand created by women, we have always been open to all genders.

Thanks to the support of all riders, an increase in tourism, and our service growing its reach, we now average a balanced 50/50 ratio between males and females. We also have non binary riders, though they account for less than 1% of total riders.

Here’s celebrating all men, joining our lessons, our male teachers Thao and Minh, our mechanics and bike partners and so many more. We value you and appreciate all the support for a female first focused business, catered to all. 😊
