Vanuatu is becoming a significant market for Indian specialist hospital. A great partnership for our health system. And such arrangements will benefit everyone who can afford to travel overseas for life-saving medical treatment

✨Strengthening Access to Overseas Medical Care for Ni-Vanuatu✨

The Ministry of Health today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hospidio Hospitals, reinforcing our commitment to expand partnerships with reputable tertiary care providers around the world.

Through this collaboration, the Ministry of Health continues to create reliable pathways for Ni-Vanuatu who require specialised medical treatment abroad. Hospidio Hospitals have already supported and hosted several Ni-Vanuatu families, and this new MOU will strengthen that support even further.

Most importantly, this partnership will open the door to improved diagnostic services right here in Vanuatu before patients travel overseas. This will help us:

✔️ Avoid unnecessary overseas referrals
✔️ Reduce long stays and unexpected costs for families
✔️ Ensure patients only travel when absolutely required
✔️ Access expert advice and timely diagnostics from abroad

The Ministry remains committed to ensuring safe, affordable and effective care options for all Ni-Vanuatu. This MOU represents another important step toward that goal.

Together, we continue to build a healthier future for Vanuatu. 🇻🇺

Happy World Prematurity Day 🇻🇺

Happy World Prematurity Day 🇻🇺

Today 17th November is World Prematurity Awareness Day
Theme this year is :
'Give preterm babies a strong start for a hopeful future'
This reminds us that every child deserves a fair chance at life, starting from their very first moments.

Prematurity affects around 1 in every 10 babies globally.
That’s an estimated 13.4 million babies born too soon each year.

Of these, nearly 1 million babies die due to complications of prematurity—deaths that are often preventable with timely care, skilled staff, warmth, breastfeeding support, infection prevention, and access to essential medicines.

Premature babies are fighters, but they need strong health systems and informed communities to survive and thrive.

On this World Prematurity Day, let’s stand together to:
💜 Raise awareness
💜 Support families
💜 Strengthen newborn care
💜 Give every baby the best start in life
