From 29 November 2025, Vanuatu citizens applying for an Australian visa may need to do an Immigration Medical Examination.

This change comes from updated World Health Organization data that classifies countries who have higher tuberculosis (TB) risk.

Australia uses the same health rules for all countries in this category. Vanuatu is listed in this category.

Your medical exam includes:
👩‍⚕️Physical exam
🩻 Chest X-ray
🩸Blood test

How to book:
1️⃣ Apply for your visa
2️⃣ If your stay is six months or more, you’ll get a letter with your HAP ID
3️⃣ Use the HAP ID to book at an approved clinic.

🇬🇧 RESCUE & RECOVERY – DECOMPRESSION ACCIDENT IN SANTO

Last night was one of those moments that remind us why we do what we do. 💙

A diver suffered a decompression accident in Santo.
Thanks to excellent coordination, he was urgently flown to Port Vila and taken directly into our decompression chamber.

🕕 For over 6 hours, he was monitored, assisted, and supported.
Fabrice from BigBlue Vanuatu stayed by his side in the chamber throughout the whole protocol.
Andrew HipGame and I operated the system to ensure everything ran safely.
And Promedical stood by us the entire time, ready to assist if needed. 🙌

After all this, the patient said:
“I feel 80% better.”

This wasn’t a miracle.
It was the result of teamwork, skill, and commitment.
And it’s proof that Port Vila now has the ability to save lives when it comes to diving emergencies.
