Novo Medical is a very modern private General & Urgent care Practice located in the heart of Port Vila.

We are very proud to have Dr. Rhys Nguyen working as our resident medical doctor. Dr. Nguyen is Australian-trained and has many years of experience throughout Australia and the United Kingdom. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, as well as a member of the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine in the United Kingdom.

Introducing our visiting GP, Dr Mark Edwards, who will be consulting at Novo Medical over the next few weeks whilst Dr Rhys Nguyen is on annual leave.

Dr Edwards graduated in medicine from the University of London in 2015 before moving to Brisbane, Australia. He has spent the last few years working in various hospitals in Queensland and NSW focusing primarily in Emergency Medicine before shifting to General Practice. He is a member of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and has advanced skills in Emergency Medicine and enjoys procedural care.

Our Story

We are thrilled to have Dr. Rhys Nguyen working as our resident medical doctor. Dr. Nguyen is Australian-trained and has more than 25 years of experience, most recently in tropical Northern Territory providing rural medicine services. Prior to that he worked in England for 12+ years. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and is also a member of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine in the United Kingdom. Dr. Rhys is renowned for his exceptional clinical skills and is much-loved for his gentle nature and easy rapport with his patients.

Novo Medical provides general medical consultations as well as urgent care and after-hours services. In addition to our standard medical consultation rooms, we also have a two-bed emergency room for private, urgent care.
