‎Probing the sincerity of men whom we've met, we have a list of genuine men whose intensions are clearly understood.

‎Greatness is not the amassing of wealth but a proof of contribution to life. Givers give and not rich or wealthy people.
‎There's a list of few good men, not all of them are rich, some act out of their riches and wealth, while others, out of their poor selves. But there's a connection of their souls to their infectious nature. The greatest or tiniest of their gift is always a seed for the next season. Maybe due to the prices they paid by themselves before getting the resources.

‎Ti's Men; their investment cannot be wasted because there's always a goodwill attached to the seed. That's why every single moment with them counts; their time, money, words, even from a distance still holds the same substance as a physical contact would.

‎I am yet to meet Hon. Patrick Amajama Ashu in person after this three years of my public service. I have only being privileged to speak with him for the first time after a whole year of contact with Ke-Ebekwarra Itanung foundation. But this one moment has revealed a lot of the personality and character of a dearly beloved and perfect definition of a gentleman.
‎He's from Ukpah- Bekwarra the "founder" of Ke'Ebekwarra Itanung foundation, a major and valued partner of our support group, whose timely engagement of our community impact programs gave credence and ensured the sustainance of our initiative. His public endorsement strengthened our local voices as Advocates and his contributions has ensured our sustainability amongst other donor's and sponsors.

‎God willing, In the coming times, we will be presenting our endorsers, sponsors, collaborators and official partners.

‎Dear Hon. Patrick Amajama Ashu, our team celebrates your bold kindness, generosity and unwavering support for our community access engagements in Bekwarra and it's environs. Indeed we celebrate you not just as a valued contributor but "immediately" as a good Man Sir.

‎Yours dutifully,
‎Irinam, David O.

‎MEDICAL FRAUD ALERT IN BEKWARRA.

‎We have received reports from schools and colleges on a very disturbing situation from some individuals claiming to be hepatitis advocates. These individuals go from school to schools with a shuttle bag or a briefcase containing an unknown substance believed to be a vaccine for Hepatitis B and C!
‎To the best of our knowledge, we do not know of any such individuals or group of persons to be either from the government or any established private organizations. As such all such individuals should be denied access and be reported to security agencies and appropriate authorities immediately.

‎As a point of concern, all vaccines are usually transported in a vaccine rush box or cold chain containers with iced packs under controlled temperature conditions like the box we've on this post.
‎These vaccines at the moment in "Cross River State" (for instance) are only found at the government primary health care centers/facilities with active cold chain systems and not as the fraudulent, unprofessional and unethical brief case or shuttle bags used by the merchants to distribute the unknown substances whose safety we cannot determine.

‎From the informations gathered, as a means of motivation, hepatitis strip tests are usually done for free while the vaccines are given for N1,000-N2,000.
‎Sighting the vaccination/yellow cards, the fraudsters do not have any traceable addresses such as phone contacts, social media handles, nor any visible informations to identify them (another great point of concern).

‎Our team's activities are strictly on policy makers engagement, community advocacy, awareness, sensitization and free screening to identify those already infected, while linking affected individuals to the government facilities for proper medical attention as well as recommendations of vaccination to uninfected individuals still at the government health facilities (only).

‎It's about the world hepatitis testing week and we continue to advocate for interventions from all relevant authorities while urging individuals, families as well as corporations to have a very necessary medical checkup on hepatitis B and C.

‎For your hepatitis B vaccinations in Bekwarra and Cross River State, please do not patronize any team outside the government health facilities to prevent any unforseen medical complications that could arise from such medical frauds.

‎Hepatitis B vaccine is usually very safe and stable under best medical practices but can become delicate when poorly handled, especially now that adult vaccines are very rare to secure except at the tertiary facilities (University of Calabar Teaching Hospital and Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Calabar).

Get tested today and only accept vaccine from a Health Care Worker at a government hospital (only).
‎Do not receive treatments from any individual especially herbals. Only consult your doctor at the hospital this week to confirm your treatment eligibility.

‎Please stay safe, viral hepatitis is real!...

We were at "Abualugu" community of Ukpah for the scheduled community outreach program featuring free hepatitis B & C awareness, sensitization, point of care testing, counselling, and community advocacy.
‎One of the things the "Bekwarra nation" enjoys the most during our community visit is the use of our "native language" as hepatitis jingles and health education has been translated into the indigenous language, benefiting a population of over 160,000 citizens and even serving as the unofficial lingua franca of Northern Cross River State of over one million (1,000,000) residents.

‎On individual affirmation, almost 95% of beneficiaries are being tested for the first time while hearing about hepatitis also for the first time, a knowledge gap that we continuously seek to close as we continue with our community access engagements.

‎To us, every aspect counts from awareness, advocacy, screening, vaccination, referral for treatment as well as management. If we succeed in these aspects, it will translate to "control" and "prevention" among others consequently leading to elimination of viral hepatitis which will serve as our mission success.

‎If we can maintain this momentum and expand on our coverages, elimination is certain by 2030 in line with the global agenda of vision2030 of SDG and UHC2030.

‎We wouldn't have gone into "Abualugu" but thank you Dr. Clement Otogo for showing love to your community. Indeed, those who have benefited from our presence owes their gratitude to God and to you Sir.
‎Thank you Dr. Cyril Enyam for the bail out and for your support always Sir. Only God knows how he will bless you too. Thank you all; our silent donors and supporters, may we succeed together.
‎Our goal is one; Ke'Ebekwarra Itanung -keti wuo!

‎BREAKING NEWS!‎Bekwarra become the first Local Government Area in Cross River State and Nigeria to invest over 30,000,0...
03/11/2025

‎BREAKING NEWS!
‎Bekwarra become the first Local Government Area in Cross River State and Nigeria to invest over 30,000,000 (Thirty million naira) towards hepatitis B elimination.

‎This was achieved over a period from December 2022 to November 2025 through community led approaches in an initiative that aims to provide free services on awareness, sensitization, counselling, point of care testing, and advocacy for vaccination, treatment and management services while providing linkage to care to affected individuals.

‎In 2022, the "Bekwarra hepatitis B support & advocacy initiative" launched an intervention campaign to curb the spread of these silent killer diseases
‎through extensive awareness and sensitization campaigns in local communities, markets, worship and event centres, often translating health education into the Bekwarra language to reach a broader audience.

‎The initiative so far has provided free hepatitis B and C screening and testing services at various locations, including Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in Nyanya and Beten, and at community events.

‎On average, as at October 2025, private clinics/diagnostic laboratories, offer routine hepatitis B & C test at N5,000 & N6,000 respectively, a cost situation that has been affected greatly through community impact programs, offering free testing of over 6,021 beneficiaries for Hepatitis B and over 1,203 for Hepatitis C without cost. While identifying those already infected and subsequently linking them to care.

‎These efforts have been demonstrated through the financial support and technical guide of the Hepatitis B Foundation, indigenous private citizens (philanthropist) as well as collaboration with other community, faith based and charity organizations as means of internal resources mobilization and program implementation.

‎However, we continue to appeal and advocate for increased government attention, hepatitis specific-funding, and the integration of viral hepatitis care into existing healthcare programs through sponsorship, collaboration or partnership among all relevant authorities.
‎The government at all regional levels is yet to demonstrate it's interest, commitment, and other deliberate interventive tools at it's disposal to ensure that the WHO goal of viral hepatitis elimination is achieved by 2030.

‎As such, while encouraging other patient-led community initiatives and collaboration among organizations with similar aim and objectives, we keep calling on all well meaning leaders across the various institutions of authority (governmental and non-governmental) to consider adopting the strategic plans that have already been developed by the Ministries of Health (MoH) especially in Cross River, Delta, and Nasarawa states etc. for effective service delivery.

‎Viral Hepatitis B & C are both expensive at all levels of the disease progression and no one deserves to die or to become poor because of out-of-pocket medical expenses.
‎Health-is-on-the -government!
‎Enough of our people dying from a preventable and avoidable death and Hepatitis B & C conditions are both.

‎Yours painfully,
‎David Irinam
‎Hepatitis B Advocate,
‎Bekwarra.

Dear Hon. Dr.Michael Odere (Commissioner for Finance, Cross River State).

I am aware that greatness is not the amassing of wealth but a proof of contribution to life. ‎You have consistently proven that givers give, and not rich or wealthy people!

‎You're a youth friendly leader, not just because you're a youth yourself but because you're a different breed Sir.

‎I have met a lot of your kinds and I sincerely celebrate meeting you while at the same time wondering why one can be so highly placed yet available to others.

May you have many more birthdays like this year's because blessed was the day you were born and indeed, the testimonies reign.
‎Please accept the most esteemed regards, prayers and goodwill from our team as we wish you happy birthday Sir.
