DANDELION ROOT— This detox tea stimulates the liver and supports healthy kidney
function. Herbalists have celebrated dandelion for thousands of years for its ability
to aid the body’s natural detoxification processes, particularly the kidneys. Because
of the bitterness, this Dandelion Tea also acts as a digestive bitter, stimulating the
gastric juices and enzymatic production. Dandelion root is used traditionally to
stimulate and detoxify the liver which can help promote estrogen metabolism and
reduce symptoms of PMS.
BITTER MELON— Bitter gourd is liver friendly and detoxifies. It boosts liver
enzymes and is a good cure for a hangover as it reduces alcohol deposits on the
liver. The bladder and the gut also benefit from consuming Bitter Melon. It boosts
immunity and prevents allergies and infections. But its most significant benefit is
that it fights cancer. It works against cancer cells proliferation and stop s tumor
formation. The risk of breast, colon and prostate cancer is significantly reduced
after regular consumption.
YELLOW DOCK ROOT— Yellow dock root helps to stimulates bile production, which
increases the rate at which the body can break down fats and lipids. It’s also a
source of anthraquinones, which are useful for smoothing the bowel movements
and preventing constipation. Research conducted in India shows that yellow dock
has effective antioxidant activity that works to scavenge oxidative damage and free
radicals throughout the body, including within liver tissue. Yellow dock has been
used to treat various bacterial infections and even sexually transmitted diseases. It
also appears to be helpful is treating intestinal infections, fungal infections, and
skin diseases.
OREGON GRAPE ROOT— Oregon grape root is renowned among herbalists for its
ability to stimulate liver function, improve the flow of bile, and for blood cleansing.
Oregon grape root uses have traditionally included treating both liver congestion
and infectious conditions of both the stomach and intestines. Another benefit of
Oregon grape root is its functioning as an antimicrobial. As with most “liver herbs,”
Oregon grape root contains a number of alkaloids. Studies have shown that one of
the alkaloids the plant contains is berbamine, and can help strengthen bo ne marrow
and assist chemotherapy and radiation patients in their recovery.
RED CLOVER BLOSSOM— Red clover is recognized as a detoxification herb or
"blood cleanser". The tea of red clover is also said to be effective for
gastrointestinal issues. Red Clover has been found to contain estrogen mimicking
flavonoids, known as phytoestrogens these substances can contribute to
maintaining normal estrogen levels during the menopause. This is especially helpful
in reducing hot flashes and night sweats – two of the most common symptoms
experienced by women in this change of life. Studies have shown that it also
improves cardiovascular health and lowers the bone density loss of menopausal
women. Red Clover’s estrogen-like properties exert a positive effect on the arterial
walls, making them more flexible, thus easing any strain on the heart and making it
harder for blood clots to form. Other research shows that Red Clover’s isoflavones
may slow down bone loss and even increase mineral density in menopausal women,
reducing the risk of osteoporosis. Red Clover promotes the drainage of mucus from
the lungs by thinning the mucus and lubricating an irritated respiratory tract. It
also promotes the secretion of sputum (phlegm), from the lower airways in a
process known as expectoration. An agent that promotes the discharge or expulsion
of mucus from the respiratory tract is known as an “expectorant” or an antitussive
agent, which is a cough suppressant.
BURDOCK ROOT— Burdock root has been valued across continents for thousands of
years for its ability to purify blood and cool internal heat. Internally and externally,
it has potent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects on the human body.
Research on traditional medicine indicates that burdock root has active ingredients
that have been found to detoxify heavy metals from the blood, improving organ
health and the health of the whole body. It also promotes blood circulation to the
skin surface, which improves skin health. Burdock root helps induce lymphatic
drainage and detoxification. Research suggests that it works as a blood purifier and
blood cleanser. This helps strengthen the lymphatic system. Burdock root contains
inulin, a soluble and prebiotic fiber that helps improve digestion and lower blood
sugar. That makes it an excellent choice for people trying to naturally manage their
blood sugar. Studies have also shown burdock root’s ability to decrease the severity
of diabetic complications, especially diabetic retinopathy. European physicians of
the Middle Ages and later used burdock to treat cancerous tumors (as well as skin
conditions, venereal disease, and bladder and kidney problems). Many herbalists
today say burdock root can stop cancer cells from metastasizing, making it a
potential natural cancer treatment. In fact, studies of mammary, colon and
pancreatic cancer have shown promise for burdock’s ability to fight against cancer.
One big reason burdock shows promise for naturally fighting cancer is the fact that
it contains arctigenin.
Studies explain that arctigenin is a lignan found in certain plants of the Asteraceae
family, including greater burdock (Arctium lappa). It has been shown to combat
cancer cells by selectively stopping the proliferation of cancer cells and inhibiting
the cancer cells’ production of particular proteins (NPAT proteins), hence crippling
cancer’s ability to reproduce.
HOLY BASIL LEAF— Holy Basil also known as Ocimum Sanctum L. and Tulsi, is native
to Southeast Asia. Holy Basil is also high in antioxidants and helps your body detox.
Studies show that Holy Basil can protect your body against toxic chemicals. It may
also prevent cancer by reducing the growth of cancerous cells. Holy Basil is
antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflammatory. analgesic (a painkiller). It has
a history within Indian medicine as a treatment for many conditions, from eye
diseases to ringworms. From the leaves to the seed, holy basil is considered a tonic
for the body, mind, and spirit. According to the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative
Medicine, Holy Basil has antidepressant and anti-anxiety properties comparable to
diazepam and antidepressant drugs. These studies examined the leaves. One
study found that people who took 500 milligrams (mg) of holy basil extract each day
felt less anxious, stressed, and depressed. People also felt more social.
ECHINACEA PURPUREA— Echinacea plants are loaded with plant compounds that
function as antioxidants. Antioxidants are molecules that help defend your cells
against oxidative stress, a state that has been linked to chronic diseases, such as
diabetes, heart disease and many others. Research has also reported Echinacea to
be effective in treating bronchitis, tuberculosis, infections, etc. In fact, it contains
echinacoside (a natural antibiotic, comparable to penicillin in effect). However,
although Echinacea has some antibiotic effect, allowing it to directly attack
bacteria, it primarily works by making your own immune cells more efficient at
attacking a broad range of viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoa, which makes it
invaluable in wound healing and in the treatment of infectious diseases. Studies
have shown Echinacea is effective in lowering blood sugar. Health experts believe
this is due to the natural ingredient in Echinacea which can suppress the enzyme
within our digestive system which converts carbohydrates into sugar. Studies, such
as the one published in Infection and Immunology, show that Echinacea contains
substances that boost the ability of your body’s macrophages to destroy germs. And
other studies from the University of Munich have shown that Echinacea extracts
boost T-cell production by as much as 30% more than immune boosting drugs.
Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis and is most prevalent in older
people. Some people who suffer from Osteoarthritis swear by Echinacea tablets
which doctors believe reduce symptoms such as pain, swelling and inflammation
thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties.
