The finalists have been announced, and we are proud to see NEC Health and our NHS partners shortlisted for six awards across the board.

⭐ PRO-MAPP: A triple-finalist success
Our collaboration with Swansea Bay University Health Board on their Orthopaedic Waiting List Initiative (OWLi) is a finalist in three categories, including 'Health Tech Case Study of the Year'.

⭐ NEC Care: Leading the way in Community Care
In a standout result for our screening team, we have secured three of the six finalist spots in the ‘Best Solution for Community Care’ category! We’re proud to share that our project dedicated to improving the experience for service users with learning disabilities and their carers has been shortlisted for the HSJ Partnership Awards 2026 in TWO categories:

✅ Most Impactful Partnership in Population Health
✅ Most Impactful Project Addressing Health Inequalities

But that’s not all!
Dorset DESP’s collaboration with University Hospitals Dorset — The positive impact of the Hospital Eye Service (HES) recall initiative on patient care — is also shortlisted for Most Impactful Partnership in Population Health.

🏆 Judging takes place in early 2026, and winners will be announced on 19 March at Evolution London.

We recommend wearing a mask to your appointment if you have flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with flu. This will limit its spread and assist the NHS to reduce pressures on A&E. Masks are available on request at our venues.

Strike out stigma!

“When I told people I had diabetes, their reactions often shocked me. I’d hear things like, ‘Really? No way! You’re not fat enough,’ or ‘You can’t be – you don’t eat unhealthy things. You don’t look like a diabetic.’ It’s amazing how people stereotype what a person with diabetes ‘should’ look like and how little they actually understand about what diabetes really is.

“Those sorts of comments were so awful – it’s been difficult enough to learn how to manage the diagnosis and treatments plus all the challenges it brings day to day without the added pressure of having to explain it all.

“It’s clear that some people don’t really understand my diabetes or that it’s something beyond my control. When I tell people – especially those I’ve known for years – they often ask if I got diabetes because I used to eat too many sweets or cakes. It really shows how little people understand about what diabetes actually is.

“I strongly feel that information about diabetes and other health conditions that are life changing should be taught as part of the school curriculum so that young people understand from an early age, that it’s not people’s fault if they have diabetes and also so they know what they’re friends are experiencing.”

Family Christmas Community Event on Friday 5th December, 9:30am – 12:00pm at The Living Well Hub, 26–30 Horsemarket Street, Warrington WA1 1XL.

Join us for a morning filled with festive fun, family connection, and community support!

Here’s what’s happening on the day:
🎨 Christmas Stay & Play Session – Hosted by Warrington Children’s Centres, with a special visit from the big man himself thanks to Warrington VIP!
🎅 Festive activities – Hannah from HAF will be joining us to offer fun activities for both the little (and big) ones.
🧥 Christmas Jumper Swap Shop – We know how expensive the festive season can be, so families can pick up or swap Christmas jumpers at our swap stall.
We’ll also have a range of local services on hand to offer information and support, including:
