A 10-week programme developed by leading yoga teachers, therapists, NHS doctors and other clinicians with the aim of creating an effective social prescribing programme promoting self-care among patients with:
Social isolation
The programme will help patients develop self-care skills during the 10-weeks and patients are supported in developing lifestyle changes and a daily yoga. Patients in the intervention are tracked over time which hopes to shown that they need fewer drugs and fewer GP and hospital appointments, and will enjoy enhanced health and a better quality of life
It’s a 10-week programme commissioned by the West London Clinical Commissioning Group and is currently being delivered to 300 patients in the West London CCG catchment area. The evaluation will be made public January 2020.

Changes in psychosocial markers
Potential economic savings for the NHS
Improvement in patients levels on motivation and engage in self-care (PAM –Patient Activation Measure)
Yoga4Health combines the health benefits of social prescribing with yoga, this will help the NHS and society in general.
