I made these images after talking with a friend about how impossible beauty standards have become for women and men today. We had the body positivity movement a few years ago, and it feels like we’ve completely regressed. Sometimes my entire TikTok feed is just women getting nose jobs, even though they were already stunning. Every curvy influencer and celebrity seems to be on Ozempic. Aging is treated like a crime.
I’ve been on a self-love journey for a while now, and even I’ll admit, I still struggle with wanting to join these trends, feeling like I’d be “more beautiful” with lip filler. But the truth is, that wouldn’t be me. I refuse to live in a world where I change who I am to fit into a mold, especially when beauty standards are constantly shifting.
I can’t believe we live in a time where Kim Kardashian sold out of underwear that gives you an artificial bush. Like, what? It’s wild. And this isn’t about judging anyone — if you’ve had procedures, that’s your choice — but authenticity matters to me. Self-love matters to me.
It feels like the world has become so vain that the same people who were once anti-vax are now fine injecting Ozempic. It’s crazy how easily we’ve normalized altering ourselves just to feel “enough.”
This isn’t meant to shame anyone. It’s for the women who have chosen the harder path — the path of self-acceptance, of loving themselves through every phase, of choosing to stay real in a world that constantly tells us not to be. I see you, and I’m with you.
