The Hatchery Place

The Hatchery Place With the amazing help of volunteers, The Hatchery Place has become not just a working space. Kevin & Elaine run, work and sometimes live in the space.

We’re a humble creative retreat for those seeking to reconnect, explore creativity, and enjoy a peaceful, focused environment located in the quiet residential hood of Subang Jaya, Malaysia

KINDLY DO NOT WALK-IN WITHOUT MESSAGING US PRIOR. The Hatchery Place is a cozy in-home coworking + coliving space with an unpretentious personal style that welcomes all conscious creative nomads as well as local location-independent creatives. Founders Kevin and Elaine (both corporate quitters and growth-oriented creative souls) started The Hatchery Place in February 2016 at first to escape the cubicle world, but now the space has evolved into an inspiring little community where traveling creatives share and exchange their skills, cultures and experiences with the locals. It is now a platform which meets the requirements of traveling creative professionals and art makers, and expands their opportunities. In a mixture of relaxed suburb home living atmosphere and concentrated working environment, we create room between work and privacy in which innovation and creativity of travelers can fostered, as they cowork together with the local neighborhood creativepreneurs here. A cozy, fun, homey, and creative work space and heart-centered friendship incubator for our travelers, writers, bloggers, digital-nomads, crafters, poets, makers, musicians, artists, yogis, videographers, healers and anyone else interested in stretching the boundaries of themselves to include trusting strangers. We also host small art & craft events, workshops, meetup nights, healing circles, food and drink tastings, talks, poetry nights and more here. Coliving guests can also host their own workshops or coaching sessions here, or participate in our events. We’re open by appointment.

🏡💔 just closed the doors on their beloved suburban nest. They marked the moment with a karaoke-charged goodbye party—free plants, chalk-wall erasing, and more sing-offs than anyone expected. 🎤🌿

Everyone left with sore cheeks from laughing, pockets full of memories, and maybe a pothos cutting or two. That house was a rare blend of slow living and creative magic, and it showed right till the last verse.

Huge props to Elaine, Kevin, and the whole crew for eight years of heart-led hosting. The community they built will miss those walls, that backyard, and every midnight Milo run. 💛

We're transitioning.. and it's not easy. Well, we'll still be here, just without a permanent house to hold our events, activities and accommodations. We hope to see you guys in person to share more about our future plans. So just drop by to chill with us and for one more hug under the black wall! Will be giving away free plants if you pop by!

Update:
Dear Hatcherian community,

Our beloved Ginger didn’t make it. She passed away around 8.40pm tonight. Her head injuries were serious and her condition worsened.

We are heartbroken and devastated by the news, and we know that many of you mourn her loss deeply just as we do.

Ginger lives on dearly in our memories and in all the lives that she has touched with her presence.

Elaine & Kevin

----------------------

Dear friends,

On Tuesday, 17 Oct, morning, our dear Hatchery Place cat, Ginger, had an accident. Something heavy fell on top of her and she suffered head trauma. She is currently admitted to a local vet clinic under close observation. Fortunately, there are no signs of other injuries besides the head, but we understand that it will take a longer time to recover.

As a beloved cat doted upon by everyone who stays at THP and visits regularly, Ginger holds a special place in our hearts. We wish to request for your good thoughts, healing, prayers and love for Ginger to help her through this difficult time.

Our local community is doing everything to support Ginger the best we can. Please understand that we may not be able to respond to any messages at this point of time but we'll be sure to update when we can.

Thank you for your love & prayers. 🙏🏻

Conversations Over Kind Meal is The Hatchery Place's initiative to bring the community together to connect while appreciating home-cooked plant-based meal, prepared by our community home-cook hobbyists.

Our home-cook vegan chefs are not professional chefs, just people who are passionate about cooking vegan meals as part of their lifestyle, and passionate to share their love of plant-based cuisines with others. These mealshare events allows us to show anyone who are new to vegan cuisines to discover how animal free food can still be delicious and how the preparation can be as simple.

Conversations carried out over such meals are organic, allowing the community to get to know each other over food, a proven effective activity in Malaysia that helps to foster connection quickly!
