๐ŸŒŸ Our Really Really Free Pantry is Full Again! ๐ŸŒŸ

Thanks to the heartwarming generosity of the Vasse community, our pantry is bursting with kindness once more. ๐Ÿ’›

A huge shoutout to Lindsay, the store manager at Vasse Coles, and his awesome team, theyโ€™ve truly stood behind this initiative from the very beginning. They believe so strongly in the difference itโ€™s making that theyโ€™ve now offered a fixed collection point to keep it going! ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ’— While our new pink donation crate is being built, you can find a trolley at the end of the checkouts in Coles Vasse where you kind, beautiful humans can continue to give.

๐Ÿฅซ For those in need: there is food available right now, please come and take what you need. No judgement, no barriers, just community.

Thank you, Vasse - together weโ€™re showing what community care truly looks like. ๐ŸŒปโœจ

You're Invited to Have Your Say โ€“ Help Us Shape Local Responses to Homelessness

Weโ€™re inviting our community to take part in two important surveys aimed at improving understanding, support, and advocacy around homelessness in our region.

๐Ÿ”น Community Survey โ€“ For all members of the public
This survey explores community attitudes and perceptions around homelessness. Your input will help shape local messaging and advocacy efforts.
https://bit.ly/HousingCommunitySurvey

๐Ÿ”น Lived Experience Survey โ€“ For those who have experienced homelessness
This survey is designed to better understand your experiences and how local services can better support you now and in the future. https://bit.ly/LivedExperienceSurvey

Both surveys are completely anonymous unless you choose to leave your contact details. Your voice matters, and your input directly contributes to building stronger, more compassionate responses to housing and homelessness in our region.

Thank you for your support and commitment to creating a community where everyone has a place to call home.

Last weekโ€™s events were designed to create space for people with lived experience of homelessness to feel seen, heard, and valued and to empower the broader community with the tools and knowledge to advocate for meaningful change.

As part of this ongoing work, we are currently circulating a community petition. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to sign. The requests are clear and achievable:

Establish 100 new, year-round, 24/7 crisis beds across Margaret River, Busselton, Bunbury, and Manjimup by mid-2027

Build at least 10 new, purpose-built transitional housing facilities in key South West hubs by the end of 2027

Set a target for social housing to make up at least 10% of total housing stock in the South West region by 2036, ensuring equitable access for those on low incomes or at risk of homelessness

If youโ€™d like to be part of this community action, you can visit our office to sign the petition, or take a copy home to share within your circles. By engaging friends, colleagues, and networks, we can grow collective support and amplify the voices of those directly affected.

Together, our voices can inspire action and remind decision-makers that housing is not a privilege, but a fundamental human right.
