*THE MEDICINAL BENEFITS OF ONION*
🧅🧅🧅🧅🧅🧅

Onion is one of the potent *natural anti-biotics*. It strengthens the immune system, thus helping to ward off common infections. For over 15 years, I have been recommending Onion for many sick people, and the results have been positive. Chew a small bulb of raw onion every night. It's as simple as that. As a starter, you may take half a bulb instead of one bulb and gradually increase it to one bulb.

Onion has been proven to *lower harmful cholesterol levels in the blood.* This is understandable when one considers the fact that Onion is rich in fibrinolytic substances that help to break up blood clots and prevent coagulation. This makes Onion indispensable for many Nigerians who consume a lot of fat and butter.

*Onion helps to lower blood sugar.* This hypoglycaemic or anti-diabetic property of Onion is due to the presence of glycoquinine. Those who are afraid of developing diabetes because their parents have diabetes should make friends with Onion, as it is an excellent prevention against diabetes.

*Onion strengthens the blood cells* that protect the body against micro-organisms. If these cells are weak, the body becomes prone to viral infections. Onion also destroys cancerous cells in the body. In Nigeria, cases of cancer, especially of the breast, are increasing daily. I wish to suggest that our women should take Onion as much as possible.

*Onion purifies and strengthens the liver and the kidney as well as cleanses the blood.* Onion is an excellent remedy for hepatitis, which is becoming common in Nigeria these days. Do you suffer from resistant typhoid fever, inability to sleep well, and low s***m count? Try Onion and see the difference it makes! Onion has been of help to men who experience weak erections or low libido. Regular intake of Onion is recommended for women who experience premature menopause and anovulation (inability to ovulate). It works.

A beautiful reminder that food is far more than physical nourishment! 💗

I’ve been recreating this Niçoise salad I had in Miami because it’s delicious, balanced, but most importantly it’s a positive meal experience.

Here’s why this meal was the “best”:
💕I shared an incredible meal at the table with my family around the holiday
🥐We shared bites from everyones plates and fully enjoyed the flavors and food experiences (pan au chocolat was a favorite)
🥭 I tried a few new foods and was excited to experience them
🎨 I played with my nephew while he and I both dipped french fries in aioli
☀️I felt the sunshine on my skin and heard the background noise of people connecting around the table
✨ This salad made me feel better after eating than I did before: nourished, satiated, and energized!

I remember a time in my life where none of this happened, where I wasn’t present enough to actually notice these beautiful moments. I used to be caught up in my mind about the calories, food rules, and the dieting stories I had.

I’m deeply grateful my experience with food is full of nourishment, enjoyment, calm, and fun!

If you’re ready to…
✔️ have food freedom where all food can fit
✔️ feel empowered by your food choices
✔️ have flexibility with food and enjoy

RISK FACTORS OF HYPERTENSION

Risk factors of hypertension refers to those things, activities or reasons that predispose you to hypertension. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), things that increase the risk of having high blood pressure include:

1. older age
2. genetics
3. being overweight or obese
4. not being physically active
5. high-salt diet
6. drinking too much alcohol

The Risk Factors Of Hypertension Are Classified Into 2;

🌟 Modifiable Risk Factors: These refers to those risk factors you can do something about and it mostly involves life style modification. They include;
• Unhealthy diets such as excessive salt consumption, a diet high in saturated fat and trans fats: Cut down the the intake of these foods
• Low intake of fruits and vegetables: Increase the intake of these foods.
• Physical inactivity: Start exercising for at least 30mins daily
• Consumption of to***co and alcohol: Cut down on these or better still quit entirely.
• Being overweight or obese: Maintain a healthy weight

🌟 Non-modifiable risk factors are those you don't have control over and they include a family history of hypertension, age over 65 years and co-existing diseases such as diabetes or kidney disease.

Lifestyle changes like eating a healthier diet, quitting to***co and being more active can help lower blood pressure. Some people may still need to take medicines to regulate their elevated blood pressure.

SYMPTOMS & PREVENTION OF HYPERTENSION

Most people with hypertension don’t feel any symptoms. Very high blood pressures can cause headaches, blurred vision, chest pain and other symptoms.

People with very high blood pressure (usually 180/120 or higher) can experience symptoms including:
1. severe headaches
2. chest pain

Complications Of Uncontrolled Hypertension

Among other complications, hypertension can cause serious damage to the heart. Excessive pressure can harden arteries, decreasing the flow of blood and oxygen to the heart. This elevated pressure and reduced blood flow can cause:

1. Chest pain, also called angina

2. Heart attack, which occurs when the blood supply to the heart is blocked and heart muscle cells die from lack of oxygen. The longer the blood flow is blocked, the greater the damage to the heart;

3. Heart failure, which occurs when the heart cannot pump enough blood and oxygen to other vital body organs

4. Irregular heart beat which can lead to a sudden death.

5. Loss of vision

6. Hypertension can also burst or block arteries that supply blood and oxygen to the brain, causing a cerebrovascular accident also known as stroke.

7. In addition, hypertension can cause kidney damage, leading to kidney failure.

PS: You're not too young to have hypertension
Hypertension doesn't go away by "it's not my portion" or I reject it
You're already at risk if anyone in your family has hypertension.
