Crabeater seals have a special adaptation that makes them unique. Despite their name, they don’t eat crabs. Instead, they have specialized teeth that act as a natural sieve, allowing them to filter their main food source: Antarctic krill. These teeth enable the seals to suck in water, trap the krill, and expel the water—much like the filtration system used by baleen whales. 🦷😳
