What is Bio-Energetics (BIE)? Bio-Energetics (BIE) is a simple new natural modality that uses a state-of-the-art instrument called the GSR-120 unit that is used to direct energy onto various points on the body to help create a homeostatic state, allowing the body to heal itself, alleviating suffering from identified stressors. Stressors are discordant energies that lead to imbalances in the body creating dis-ease states. Common stressors or stressor type reactions include:
•Food and Environmental Intolerances (Dairy, Gluten, Nuts, Dust/Dust Mites, Pets, Molds, Weeds, Pollens)
•Fatigue – Digestive Issues – Hormonal Disturbances – Sleep Conditions – Behavioral and Emotional Problems

How can BIE help? Once the stressors are identified, the GSR-120 unit is used on various points on the body, allowing the body to heal itself. How many BIE sessions will I need? Generally, it requires only 1 to 4 sessions depending upon the following:
•The amount of bodily toxins
•The strength of the person’s immune system
•The client’s level of hydration
•The stress level of the client

However, several visits may be required to help the body to achieve homeostasis with those who are affected by multiple stressors. Once homeostasis is achieved, there is usually no need for subsequent or yearly visits for the same stressors.

We’ve normalized abnormal periods — and we shouldn’t have. Painful cramps. Heavy bleeding. Irregular cycles. PMS that disrupts your life.

Somewhere along the way, young women started being told this is just “part of being a woman.” That it’s something you just push through every month, but your menstrual cycle is not meant to feel like a monthly battle.

Your period is a vital sign. It’s a reflection of hormone balance, stress levels, nutrient status, inflammation, and overall health.

When your cycle is irregular, extremely painful, very heavy, or constantly unpredictable, or other symptoms like acne, back pain, etc. — that’s not something to silence. That’s your body’s check engine light.

Instead of masking symptoms, we should be asking:
✨ Why is this happening?
✨ What is out of balance?
✨ What is my body trying to tell me?

In many cases, when we address the root cause, whether that’s hormone imbalance, stress, blood sugar dysregulation, nutrient deficiencies, or inflammation — cycles can become significantly more manageable.

You don’t have to accept suffering as normal.

If this resonates with you, tell me — were you ever taught that painful periods were “just part of life?” What have you been told is “normal” Maybe we can start a conversation that shows other women or younger women that this is not how it has to be. 👇🏼

One piece that’s often missing from the GLP-1 conversation is individualization.

No two bodies respond the same way to medications — and that’s where DNA testing can be incredibly helpful. When we understand your genetic blueprint, we can better assess things like how your body manages blood sugar, appetite regulation, inflammation, detoxification, and even how you may respond to certain medications.

When used alongside GLP-1 medications, this kind of insight can help us:
• Look deeper at root causes
• Anticipate how well your body may tolerate these drugs
• Identify areas that need extra lifestyle or nutritional support

This isn’t about replacing medication — it’s about using more information to support your body wisely and long-term.

I offer DNA testing in clinic for patients who want a more personalized approach to their health, especially when navigating bigger decisions like these. Not only will it tell you about this, but MANY other aspects of your health as well.

Because the goal isn’t just weight loss — it’s better health, now and in the years ahead.

I’m seeing more and more menopausal women being prescribed GLP-1 medications to help with weight gain — and I want to start a conversation around this.

Weight gain during perimenopause and menopause is often a symptom, not the problem itself. Shifts in estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, insulin sensitivity, and muscle mass all play a role — and if we don’t address those hormonal changes, focusing only on weight loss can become a temporary solution.

GLP-1 medications may have a place for some people. But when they’re used without exploring hormone balance, lifestyle support, nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress regulation, they can act like a band-aid. And once the medication is stopped, many women find themselves right back where they started — or struggling even more.

My goal is never to take something away, but to add context and support. If someone is considering these medications, I want to make sure we’re also looking at the root causes so we’re improving overall health and quality of life — not just the number on the scale.

Ask your questions in the comments below, I am happy to keep this conversation going 👇🏼

Part 3 coming soon

GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy are being talked about everywhere right now — but there’s still a lot of confusion around what they actually do in the body.

In this first video, I’m breaking down how these medications work and why they can be helpful for some people. I’ll also be honest — my perspective on these drugs has evolved over the years. I do see their value when they’re used appropriately and with the right support.

Where I have concerns is when they’re treated as a quick fix, without addressing the foundations of health. Without lifestyle changes, many people end up stopping the medication and finding themselves worse off than before — weight regain, metabolic disruption, and frustration.

This series isn’t about fear or shame. It’s about understanding, informed decisions, and long-term health.

I will be posting a few more videos on Why so many women are being prescribed these drugs and also how DNA testing relates to taking GLP-1 medication.

Now’s your chance! Ask me any questions you may have regarding this topic and I’ll be happy to answer them or maybe even create more videos around the question.

Harmony Tea Co. was created with intention. I didn’t create these blends just to be enjoyable — I created them to serve a purpose. To fill a need. To make a simple cup of tea something that could be both comforting and healing.

Each blend is hand-crafted using organic, top-quality herbs, chosen not only for their individual benefits, but for how they work synergistically together to support the body. These are medicinal infusions designed with care, experience, and healing at the centre — the way I approach my clinical work as a naturopath.

I also chose loose-leaf tea intentionally. It creates less waste, avoids unnecessary tea bags, and allows you to choose the amount that feels right for your body and your day.

If you’re someone who values quality, sustainability, and herbal medicine that’s been thoughtfully formulated — this line was created for you.

Right now, Harmony Tea Co. blends are on sale 20–50% off, making it a beautiful time to explore a new blend or restock a favourite.

Because tea can be more than a habit — it can be part of your healing.

Muscle cramps are one of those symptoms I see all the time — and they’re often your body asking for a little more support.

Dehydration, low magnesium, and higher stress levels are some of the most common contributors, and I break this down more in the video.

We do carry a variety of magnesium options in clinic, because not all magnesium is the same — and the right form matters.

💬 Let’s talk:

One of the most important parts of the care I provide is time.

Reviewing lab results, discussing symptoms, and creating a thoughtful plan can’t be rushed — and things like test result reviews truly need a minimum of 30 minutes to be done properly.

Another important point is that in order to give the best care possible to each patient, I can only focus on one patient per appointment. I am happy to book you and your family back to back appointments for convenience, but we cannot discuss multiple people in one.

I completely understand wanting to stay within a budget. At the same time, I need to ensure I’m allowing enough space in my schedule to give you my full attention, stay on track for the day, and respect the time of every patient I see.

If an appointment ends up being shorter than what was booked, you’ll only be charged for the actual time we spend together. Booking the appropriate length simply ensures we’re not rushed and that your care is handled with the depth it deserves.

Thank you for understanding and for helping me continue to provide thoughtful, unrushed care to everyone who walks through our doors.

This is simply an opportunity to access products we already stand behind, at a lower cost — not a reflection of their integrity or effectiveness.

Progesterone is often referred to as the body’s calming, balancing hormone — and when levels are low, you can feel it.

Low progesterone can contribute to symptoms like:
• anxiety or feeling “wired but tired”
• sleep issues
• PMS or heavy periods
• cycle irregularities
• feeling emotionally overwhelmed

In this video, I’m sharing why adequate progesterone levels are so important and what can happen when the body isn’t producing enough.

If any of this resonates, know this: your symptoms aren’t random — they’re information. And with the right support, balance is possible.

Any questions regarding this topic or any others in the hormone series? Let’s get chatting about it in the comments!
