here 👋🏻 Next month marks a bittersweet shift for me. As many of you know, I’m getting ready to welcome a little one into the world—and with that, take a step back from teaching and studio life.

Over the past 18 months, Sāmya has been my only baby (other than Haku of course!) A space born from love, dedication, intuition, and the belief that we can build something different together: something slower, softer, and more sustainable.

And now, it’s ready to stand on its own, with a beautiful team continuing to tend the space and guide it forward. After all, it takes a village!

I’m so happy to introduce , our new studio manager, who many of you have already seen at the desk or in class. Áine brings a grounded, thoughtful energy and a real love for the studio. She’s already jumped into the Sāmya rhythm, and I know you’ll love getting to know her.

I’m also so grateful to our wonderful teachers who’ll be stepping into my classes. and will be covering breathe + flow, will be taking over Sunday slow flow and Wednesday yin, and Áine will hold down the fort on Friday mornings for vinyasa.

My last class will be on Sunday 8th June, and I’ll be starting maternity leave shortly after. I would love to see you in class or in the in-between-class moments over my last few weeks.

I’ll definitely still pop in over the summer for a class or two (likely with little one in tow!) and I’m looking forward to coming back when the time feels right. For now, you’re in such good hands.

Thank you for being part of this place, this practice, this community. I’m so grateful for all we’ve built together—and for everything that’s still to come 💛✨✨✨✨

Come settle yin ✨

We’ve quietly added more yin classes to the schedule after hearing your feedback for stillness. Have you snuck into a class yet?

Yin yoga has ancient roots. It draws from traditional practices—Hatha yoga and Taoist philosophy—but was actually only shaped 50 years ago. It’s a practice of long-held, floor-based postures that target the body’s connective tissues and fascia—not by pushing, but by staying.

Unlike restorative yoga, which uses props to fully support the body in effortless rest, yin invites gentle sensation. You’re still, but engaged—working with your edge, observing your breath, and allowing time and gravity to do the work.

Why practice Yin?

✨ It increases flexibility and joint mobility
✨ Boosts circulation in your tissues
✨ Helps regulate your nervous system and reduce stress
✨ Builds inner stillness and mental resilience

It’s a balance to stronger practices and the busyness of life—a chance to settle and tune in.

New classes are live on the schedule:

✨ Wednesday 7:30p w/
✨ Friday 5:45p w/
✨ Sunday 6p w/ *new class starting 11th May*

This December marks our final month on ClassPass. Starting January 2025, we’ll no longer be part of the platform—a decision that wasn’t made lightly but feels right for our studio.

When we first joined Classpass, it seemed like a way to welcome new students into our community. Over time, though, it’s become clear that the platform’s priorities don’t align with our values. The latest updates to their Terms & Conditions were the final straw for us and many other independent studios.

There are many reasons why we’re stepping away (slide through the carousel to read) but what’s most painful is seeing how CP pulls people away from studios—rather than their original promise to bring us closer together.

Over the years, Classpass has evolved in ways that make it harder for small, independent studios like ours to thrive. Community, real relationships, and repeat students are at the heart of our small business, and Classpass undermines that with a model based on hopping from one free class to another.

To top it off, their latest T&Cs now include a class action waiver, meaning we’ve lost the ability to challenge these practices collectively. This is a direct response to the open letter we joined with 20+ other independent studios this summer, asking for fairness and transparency.

We believe in something different. At Sāmya, people come before profit, and community matters more than transactions. We’re stepping away from Classpass because it’s the right thing for our teachers, our students, and the space we’ve built together.

If Sāmya has been part of your life, we’d love for you to continue this journey with us. Booking directly helps us thrive and allows us to keep creating a space where everyone feels welcome and cared for. And if you’ve joined us via CP and are considering making the jump, talk to your favourite Sāmya teacher after class. They have a special discount for you. 💛

Thank you for being part of our story, for supporting us, and for showing up. If you have any questions, we’re always here to chat. We’re excited for this next chapter and honoured to have you with us.

With love,

💛 MEET TIFFANY—a yoga and movement teacher, writer, poet, and spiritual seeker who brings depth, curiosity, and a whole lot of heart to everything she does. ’s practice is rooted in the truth that yoga is a path to transformation, healing, and freedom.

Tiffany has spent years diving deep into the energetics of yoga, exploring how ancient traditions can create powerful, soul-expanding change in a fast-paced world. Her teaching blends creative and dynamic flows with moments of stillness and reflection. She weaves poetry, spirituality, and philosophy into her classes, creating experiences that are as much about the heart as they are about the body.

This Sunday, Tiffany leads our next community session at Sāmya. These gatherings are a chance to practice and take an intentional pause—a moment to prioritise mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing in a world that often demands too much.

Each session focuses on a theme that resonates with our community’s needs, and this week, we’ll explore the themes of freedom, liberation, and love. It’s an invitation to nurture yourself, cultivate compassion, and feel held in a space created just for you.

💛 WHO IS THIS FOR? To honour and celebrate our shared experiences, these sessions are specifically for Black women and women of colour. This is a space where we co-create dignity, care, and connection—a place to be seen, heard, and supported.

💛 ABOUT OYA RETREATS: OYA Retreats is a holistic wellness brand designed for Black women and women of colour committed to their healing journeys. Through culturally resonant practices and community-centred experiences, OYA celebrates the collective wisdom and uniqueness of its members.

Haku appreciation post because our favourite furry friend turns 5 today!

HBD to this sweet angel who brightens everyone’s day at the studio. Whether it’s the zoomies with and or post-breathwork landing-back-into-reality cuddles or gentle licks when you’re having a bad day—he’s our little studio mascot and we love him sooooooo much 💛
