With the weather starting to heat up, remember to PAWS and think before walks! On sunny days, pavement can be 40-60 degrees hotter than the air temperature! Even at 77 degrees, the heat of pavement can be damaging to us and our furry friends. Test the heat of pavement by placing the back of your hand on the surface. If you can’t comfortably hold your hand against the pavement for 7-10 seconds, it is too hot to walk!
