SPEAKER PROFILE
We have several great speakers to excite and inspire you, at our forthcoming Sauna & Wild Swimming Book Festival & x
Our key speaker is author and all-round ‘saunapedia’
Emma wrote the book that I wish had existed, when I started my ‘sauna-journey’, nearly 4 years ago!
Sauna: The Power of Deep Heat, is a MUST read for anyone interested in sauna.
The book describes Emma’s own personal journey, across The Nordic Region and into the world of sauna. Entertaining and well written, Sauna, helps you understand that sauna is not a new trend, but an ancient tradition.
Since then, the sauna movement, The UK has developed, at pace and Emma found herself in exactly the right place to document its development. She does just this in the book that she will be promoting at our event, Wild Saunas: The Best Outdoor Saunas in Britain, which includes all Scottish Seaside Saunas’ saunas and
In this publication, Emma invites us to escape the everyday and immerse ourselves in Britain’s burgeoning sauna scene, highlighting over 180 unique locations, to learn about the history and health benefits of sauna therapy and ice baths, gain insider tips on sauna etiquette.
Our second author takes us deeper into collective history of sweatbathing. Focusing on her native Ireland, Rosanna reveals, to us, a forgotten network of community Sweat Houses and Bronze Age Sweatlodges, demonstrating that our desire for what we now refer to as hot-cold therapy is nothing new. Perhaps explaining why so many of us have taken to this new wave of sauna, in The UK, Ireland and across The Nordic Region, as if it is the most normal thing to do!
A detailed programme of the evening is yet to be made available. However, we will also welcome authors and presenters and to talk about their book, Jules & Greg’s Wild Swim, which will be published the day before the event.
All books will be available to buy on the evening. Tickets are available via link in the bio and on the website 🔥
