Utah just passed a landmark bill to ban ultra-processed food additives from school meals—a critical step toward protecting our children’s health.

Additives like artificial dyes, titanium dioxide, and brominated vegetable oil—many of which have been linked to behavioral disorders, endocrine disruption, and even cancer—are still routinely served in schools across the country.

This is precisely the kind of systemic reform I called for in Food Fix: policy that prioritizes public health, safeguards our children, and begins to hold the food industry accountable for decades of harm.

Our kids deserve real, nourishing food—not chemically engineered substances designed to hijack their taste buds and biology.

The momentum is building.
But to truly fix our broken food system, we need continued advocacy, bold legislation, and a collective demand for better.
