- How to keep your bar rust free!

💥 Clean the chalk off your bar after every use. To clean your bar you will need a stiff nylon bristle brush. Brushing along the knurling of the bar until the chalk is gone.

This is very important to do because chalk absorbs the moisture on your hands. Therefore, when left on the bar, the chalk is absorbing any humidity and holds it on the bar leading to the bar rusting.

🔥Wiping down your barbell is a simple way to maintain it. How often you need to do this will vary depending on use and the facility. For example, in a commercial gym bars will need a weekly wipe due to high use. whereas smaller gyms or home gyms will need cleaning fortnightly. Do this after brushing the bar. You can use a light coat 3-in-1 oil. Spray it onto a cloth, wipe down the whole bar and leave overnight, then wipe it down again.

🏋️‍♂️ Maintain the sleeve of the barbell.
Most bars have oil-impregnated bearings or bushings, therefore you do not need to oil them. Some bars will have small oil holes, allowing you to drop oil (not WD-40) into them, allowing the sleeves to spin freely.

Try to do this once or twice a month and make sure you wipe away any excess that may have leaked from the sleeve.

Hindsight is a great thing. So often, when we look back on failures or tragedy when everything seemed like a disaster, we find ourselves grateful of the experience because it paved the way for something far better.

Tommy Caldwell lost a finger and became one of the greatest climbers of all time. His story is a mixture of obsession, success, failure and genius. Making the impossible possible. Spending several years mapping out and climbing what is now known as the Dawn Wall. One of the hardest climbs ever made.

is different from using or because when you train with a machine you are forced to move in a predetermined path. Dumbbells have a tight center of gravity and mainly utilise the major muscle groups.

A kettlebell’s handle and spherical shape creates an off center mass, forcing your muscles to mimic real-life activities. They are often referred to as one of the top 10 tools for physical strength and endurance training.
