Asynclitic Presention at Birth 👶

This is when the baby’s head is tilted sideways rather than dropping straight down as it moves through the pelvis.

When there is prolonged Asynclitic presentation, it can prolong labor or cause a stall in labor…potentially increasing the need for intervention.

But guess what?! Physical Therapists (especially ones trained in OB Intrapartum like we are) can help!

Because we have a deep understanding of pelvic mechanics, we can help get momma into laboring positions that will help open her pelvic inlet, mid pelvis, and pelvic outlet…giving baby space to move. We also have strategies to help “back baby out” a little bit to help them reposition (think puppy pose and inversions).

In many instances, these positions changes can help improve baby positioning, improve momma’s pain, AND keep labor progressing! 🥳

If you want us in your delivery to help support you and your pelvic mechanics, give us a ☎️. We would be honored to be part of your delivery journey! 🥰

Your hips were made to move especially during pregnancy and birth.

Working on hip mobility helps create more space in the pelvis, allowing baby to settle into an optimal position while also reducing pressure on your lower back and pelvis. It improves circulation, supports your pelvic floor, and prepares your body for the movements required during labor.

Strong, mobile hips = a body that can adapt, open, and work with your baby during birth.

At Pivotal PT & Wellness, we focus on intentional movement that prepares your body for pregnancy, birth, and beyond because birth prep isn’t just about strength, it’s about mobility and support. 🤍

If you’re pregnant and your lower back is screaming… try this 👏🏼

Leaning forward on a birth ball:
• takes pressure off your spine
• opens your hips
• helps baby settle into a better position
• gives your pelvic floor a break

It looks simple… but it WORKS.
Your body isn’t fragile it just needs support 🤍

At Pivotal PT & Wellness, we focus on intentional movement, birth prep, and pelvic floor support to help you feel strong, prepared, and confident going into labor.
Pregnancy isn’t about “just getting through it” it’s about supporting your body every step of the way!

This one is for the men out there 🤣

Look, we get it. Pelvic floor physical therapy can be intimidating….in general…but especially for men!

We thought this response was not only funny but probably also something most men have considered if they have considered pelvic PT.

And the honest truth is that most men are intimidated by the re**al exam, and we get that. But that is such a small part of what we do, that we hope men don’t avoid pelvic floor PT just because of that.

Because the more important truth is that men can benefit from pelvic PT for improvement in bladder, bowel, and sexual function the same way women can.

Did you know your feet 👣 and pelvic floor are connected in more ways than one?! 🤯

They share fascial connections, nerve input, and even sit close together in your brain’s sensory map 🧠

Your feet are your foundation. When they’re not supported, your arches can collapse, alignment shifts (ankles → knees → hips), and your pelvic floor has to work overtime to stabilize you 💥

And since your pelvic floor is a major support system for your skeleton during movement, everything starts from the ground up.

So when you’re walking through those parks 🌳 and in everyday life make sure your feet are properly supported.

Love your 🦶 = Love your pelvic floor 🥰
Strong from the ground up 💛

Holding kiddos and waiting in lines? Pelvic floor and back struggling to keep up?

Don’t worry we’ve got some tips for you!

Squat down to pick up your kiddos! Let those legs do the heavy lifting 💪 NOT your back!

Exhale as you lift your kiddos! This will help prevent breath holding, manage your abdominal pressure, and cue your pelvic floor and deep core to stabilize appropriately through the lift.

Once you’re just holding those babies, sway back and forth and repeatedly exhale. This combo will help keep your pelvic floor contracting and relaxing as it needs to so it can work efficiently. Added bonus that swaying is relaxing to those babies!

“Everyone’s dressed, shoes on, keys grabbed, standing by the door like 👀

And then there’s Mom… doing one last sweep of the house, mentally running through a full checklist: bottles, wipes, snacks, phone, charger, did I switch the laundry, where’s the dog, why is there always one more thing 😅
Because when Mom says ‘we’re leaving,’ what she really means is almost and somehow, we still make it out the door!
