YELLOW Watermelon???

It wasn’t until I came home and cut my watermelon that I realized it wasn’t red! I actually thought it wasn’t ripe. Thanks to google I learned that there is such a thing as a yellow watermelon! (I didn’t notice the sticker when I purchased it at my local Sprouts).

It actually has many nutritional benefits:
-vitamins A & C
-beta-carotene
-citrulline
-super hydrating

The yellow watermelon was actually DELICIOUS! Heartier and a bit less sweet than it’s red counterpart, it was perfect for my summer salad!
-yellow watermelon
-red watermelon
-feta cheese
-cucumbers
-arugula
-spinach
-blackberries

Message me for more summer salad recipes!

☀️ Summer Solstice 2024 has arrived! ☀️
Here in Florida it’s always summer but in many parts of the country today is the kickoff of the first day of summer.

One of the reasons I’m committed to working out year round is because everyday is a potential beach day here in sunny Florida. However, the years I lived up north, I was also committed to eating healthy and working out 12 months a year. So remember if you’re starting a summer workout routine now, try to maintain it even when sweater season kicks in.
If you’re committed to light and healthy eating during the summer try to maintain it once the holidays around.
Also try to follow the 80/20 rule with working out and eating healthy. It’s OK to give yourself a break 20% of the time but establishing a routine and consistency is optimal for long term results.

Message me if you’re interested in working on redefining your food choices, for all 4 seasons!

Happy Summer!☀️

Can you tell I love breakfast?🍓 🫐 🥚 🥭

I know some people don’t eat breakfast, but I listen to my body’s hunger cues, and for me that usually means a well balanced breakfast of protein and fruit. (I try to have my sugar/fruit earlier in the day).

When I don’t listen I usually end up fatigued, dehydrated, or hangry.

The plate below clearly shows balance. This spinach, tomato, goat cheese omelette paired really well with fresh fruit, smoked salmon and a mini chocolate croissant 🥐 (my 80,20 rule applies here for everything in moderation 🤣).

I also tried to add as much color to my plate as possible.

If you stock your fridge with the proper ingredients, prepping this kind of meal can easily take 10 to 12 minutes.

Message me if you want more tips about meal prep, grocery shopping or establishing and maintaining an 80/20 balance.

🌟 This week I enjoyed this beautiful birthday brunch at one of my favorite cafés in Boca

Started off the day with a great class at the gym, then meditation time on the beach, and then this fabulous brunch followed by another amazing beach dinner with family and friends.

For this meal, the 🥚 protein & 🥬 veggies were exactly what I needed after my workout . However, the house made croissant topped it all off! Everything in moderation 🥐 as I’ve learned through the years. 🌟

Avocado, smoked salmon, multigrain toast, eggs, capers, & mixed greens—Healthy and nourishing great meal with great friends after the pre-marathon day annual Tropical 5k. I was so happy to discover in historic South Beach. What an amazing discovery! Not only do they have a plethora of healthy options on their food menu, they have fresh squeezed juices as well. On my way out I picked up fresh squeezed pineapple juice, which I enjoyed while walking along the beach. Very impressive and healthy options!

The more I learn about the benefits of papaya, the more in love I become with this fruit. They are typically grown in Florida and Hawaii.

This fruit is extremely high in vitamin A, C, E and beta carotene. Their seeds are extremely beneficial as well. They help gut health and contain polyphenols, powerful antioxidants.
Add papaya to your shopping cart this week!

This time of year we often see and consume cookies, candies, cakes and more. Having those sweets in moderation realistic. However, balances are necessary for optimal health. I place healthy and colorful fruits on my counter before attending events that will have process sugary foods. This way the beneficial foods fill up my kids’ bellies leaving less room for the stuff that doesn’t contribute any health to their bodies. I think it’s a win/win this way, do you?
