RSOG, in collaboration with SOGC under the SRHR Project Rwanda, with the support of Global Affairs Canada and L’AMIE , continues to empower 16 health centers in Gasabo District. Today, a delegate from SOGC visited Remera Medicalized Health Center, where the leadership expressed appreciation for the project’s ongoing capacity-building efforts in EmONC and the provision of essential equipment.

By equipping frontline healthcare providers with the necessary tools and skills, we are strengthening the first line of response in obstetric and newborn care.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Global Affairs Canada, SOGC, L’AMIE, RSOG members, local leaders, and dedicated trainees, whose commitment ensures that this support translates into meaningful, lasting change for the communities they serve.

Training Trainers for Trainers

In collaboration with the Elekta Foundation and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), RSOG is committed to supporting Rwanda’s Mission 2027 to eliminate cervical cancer. As part of this effort, RSOG is equipping healthcare providers with the skills needed to screen and treat cervical cancer.

The second group training began in our simulation lab, where participants engaged in practical, hands-on learning, and continued in partner hospitals with clinical practice. This blended approach ensures that healthcare providers are thoroughly prepared to deliver high-quality cervical cancer prevention services across Rwanda.

Every day, doctors across Rwanda face life-threatening complications like postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and preeclampsia — two major causes of maternal deaths that can often be prevented with the right care.

In this episode, we sit down with two dedicated OBGYN specialists:
🔹 Dr. Nyirinkwaya from Hôpital la Croix du Sud
🔹 Dr. David Ntirushwa from CHUK

They’ll share their experiences, what’s working, what still needs to change — and most importantly, how we can keep more mothers safe.
