April is both Genocide Awareness Month and Genocide Prevention Month, a time to remember, reflect, and take meaningful action 🕯️

At this community counseling center, I recognize the deep and lasting impact that violence, displacement, and generational trauma can have on individuals and families. Healing is not just personal, it’s collective. By creating safe spaces for conversation, support, and education, we can begin to break cycles of harm and build stronger, more compassionate communities.

As a counselor and family coach, I am committed to helping individuals process trauma, strengthen family connections, and develop resilience in the face of adversity. Awareness is the first step, but prevention requires all of us through empathy, advocacy, and standing up against injustice in all its forms.

Let’s honor those affected by genocide by choosing connection over division, understanding over silence, and action over indifference 🙏

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month 🚗📵

At this community counseling center, I see firsthand how everyday stress, overwhelm, and constant digital distractions can impact not just mental health but safety on the road. It only takes a second of looking at a phone, adjusting a playlist, or losing focus to change lives forever.

As a counseling practice led by one dedicated counselor and family coach, my mission is to support individuals and families in building healthier habits, stronger focus, and safer routines. That includes encouraging mindful driving.

This month, we invite you to:
• Put your phone away while driving
• Model safe habits for your children
• Take a moment to reset before getting behind the wheel
• Talk openly with your family about the risks of distracted driving

Small choices make a big difference for you, your loved ones, and your community.

Let’s work together to keep our roads and our minds safe 🙏

April is Stress Awareness Month

Stress is something we all experience but understanding it is the first step toward managing it.

🔍 Common causes of stress:
Work pressures, financial concerns, family conflicts, major life changes, and even daily responsibilities can all take a toll.

⚠️ Effects of unmanaged stress:
It can impact your sleep, mood, relationships, and physical health, leading to anxiety, burnout, irritability, and fatigue.

🌿 Healthy ways to cope:
• Practice mindfulness or deep breathing
• Stay physically active
• Maintain a balanced routine
• Set realistic boundaries
• Talk to someone you trust
• Seek professional support when needed

At this community counseling center, I provide a safe and supportive space for individuals and families to explore these challenges. As a counselor and family coach, I work closely with clients to build resilience, improve communication, and develop practical strategies for everyday life.

You don’t have to carry stress alone, support is here.

I Remember
I remember the Holocaust.
I remember the 6 million stolen Jewish lives, and millions of others.
I remember the stories.
I remember the survivors.
I remember the heroism.
I remember the resilience...and I remember that silence can be deadly.
I remember.

'Never Again' needs to be more than simple words. We must keep the memory of the Holocaust alive and fight against hatred and antisemitism so that 'Never Again' becomes a reality.

In commemoration of Yom HaShoah, Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, let us all say: I Remember.

What is World Autism Month?

World Autism Awareness Month, observed every April, is dedicated to increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It highlights the diverse experiences, strengths, and challenges of individuals on the spectrum while promoting inclusion in schools, workplaces, and communities. Raising awareness helps reduce stigma and encourages support systems that allow autistic individuals to thrive. It is important because it fosters empathy, education, and equal opportunities for everyone.

The autism infinity symbol, often depicted in rainbow or gold, represents neurodiversity, endless possibilities, and acceptance of autistic individuals. Created by the autistic community, it serves as a preferred alternative to the puzzle piece, shifting focus from "solving" autism to celebrating unique, infinite variations of neurotypes.

At this Community Counseling Center, I'm committed to creating a space where every individual is seen, heard, and supported. As a counselor and family coach, I work closely with individuals and families to better understand autism, build meaningful connections, and celebrate each person’s unique strengths.

Let’s continue to grow in awareness, acceptance, and compassion together 🙏

‼️ This is your sign. ✨

Take the trip 🧳
Start the conversation 🗣️
Launch the idea 💡
Do the thing that scares you 😨

Growth doesn’t happen inside your comfort zone, it happens when you take one brave, intentional step forward. Fear often shows up right before something meaningful.

At this community counseling center, led by one dedicated counselor and family coach, I believe courage isn’t the absence of fear, it’s choosing to move forward with support. My colleagues helped me up that mountain but I had to get myself there first...taking that big leap to get on a plane and just do it!

If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it ⬆️
Your next chapter might be one decision away. And it will be the BEST decision you have ever made 🙏 Blessings 🙏

If you need support to do that thing that scares you, contact me at scaaccc@gmail.com

🌈 Today is National Find a Rainbow Day 🌈

I can’t help but think back to my time in Bergen, Norway during the IFTA Congress. Between the misty mornings and coastal skies, rainbows felt like a gentle reminder of hope, showing up right when the rain seemed steady and gray.

What stayed with me most wasn’t just the breathtaking scenery, but the powerful conversations about family systems and community healing. I was especially inspired as a small community counseling center led by one dedicated counselor and family coach. A single person creating a safe space for growth, resilience, and connection is proof that you don’t need a big team to make a big impact.

Rainbows don’t erase the rain. They remind us that light still finds its way through. Today, I’m celebrating the helpers, the healers, and the quiet leaders in our communities who create hope in the middle of life’s storms. 🌦️🌈

I was terrified going up the mountain, not just of the height, but of everything it represented. Fear. Vulnerability. Growth. With the encouragement of my therapist friend, Jacqueline from Brazil, I took the leap. I stepped onto the Fløibanen and let it carry me up to the top of Mount Fløyen.

As we climbed above Bergen, watching the fjord and city open up beneath me, I realized this was bigger than a view. It was proof. Proof that fear doesn’t get the final word.

After facing my fears during the IFTA Congress 2026, this felt like the final step, rising anyway, even when my heart was racing. Growth is uncomfortable. Healing is brave. And sometimes, the most beautiful views come after the hardest climbs 💪

Good morning from beautiful Bergen, Norway 🇳🇴

I’m enjoying breakfast at the International Family Therapy Association Congress here in Bergen, and I’m reminded how powerful the connection is between what we eat and how we feel.

As a counselor and family coach in Community Counseling I often talk with families about communication patterns, stress, and emotional regulation, but we can’t overlook diet. Nutrition plays a direct role in mood stability, energy levels, concentration, and even anxiety and depression symptoms.

Research continues to show that balanced meals with whole foods, healthy fats, lean proteins, and complex carbohydrates support brain health and emotional resilience. When families prioritize shared, nourishing meals, they’re not just feeding their bodies they’re strengthening connection and mental wellness.

Grateful to be learning alongside colleagues from around the world at the International Family Therapy Association Congress here in Bergen. Conversations about systemic health must include both relational and physical wellbeing.

What we put on our plates truly impacts what we bring to the table, emotionally and relationally. 🍉 🍇 🍊 🥚
