Do you want higher, lighter, more powerful jumps? It’s not about the quantity of jumps… it’s about how you build the strength behind them. This is what progressive loading looks like in dance training 👇

In the studio, dancers often repeat jumps hoping for improvement. But without enough strength capacity, you’re just reinforcing the same limits (and increasing injury risk).

Progressive loading = gradually increasing demand on your muscles so they can adapt.

That means:

✔️ Building foundational strength (glutes, calves, quads, deep core)
✔️ Progressing load (weights, resistance, instability, range)
✔️ Bridging strength → power → plyometrics

In this exercise, we’re challenging:

🔹 Posterior chain strength
🔹 Core control on an unstable surface
🔹 Load tolerance through range

This is what prepares the body to produce and absorb force in jumps. Because better jumps aren’t just about technique, they’re about having the strength to support it.

Train smarter. Jump higher. Stay healthier. 💥

Paired with her expertise and experience in the field, Pivot Dancer is intentional and focused but also really fun. Since starting Pivot, I’ve noticed I’m slowing down and tuning into alignment and proper form for optimal function.” - Pivotal Pivoter Calley Skalnik

Back to Basics: Forced Turn Out 🙅‍♀️

Dinah Hampson and Abbey Nolet demonstrate what not to do when working on your turn out rotation. Forced turn out from the feet can cause your arches to collapse. How to prevent that? Doming! Try these exercises demonstrated by Abbey.
