Hey beautiful people,
It's been a while since I invested in my business page.

I have returned to study and am learning how to become a counsellor in a three year degree and am currently in my second year.

It's fascinating and easy to be passionate about because of the humanistic nature of the content and it is life changing. All of the hidden boxes are being revealed and if I choose to, I can open them and take a look at what's inside.

I'm not going to say it's been easy. I will say it is worth it.

This year I have been awarded the NMIT Degree Scholarship. To me this is a reflection of my investment in study and excellence in my grades.
I acknowledge that as a solo Mum it requires a lot of me and I am grateful for my son's resilience and for the support of my community.

Counselling has been a seed planted many years ago when my mother was still alive. I feel her support in spirit alongside me as I make this journey. I know she is proud.

I am holding this workshop and classes in Foundational Consent to help you find your yes!!!

When I first started doing this work I wanted to learn how to be better at saying no. Little did I know that I was actually going to learn how to find my YES.

I'm going to share with you the basics of consent through interactive exercises where you get to practice setting boundaries in a safe space.

NEW MASSAGE STUDIO

Some of you may know that my massage studio was damaged in the recent floods.

My dear friend Noreen Macdonald has invited me to be part of the collective healing space at Natural Living, off the carpark at Founders (upstairs in the two storey mustard building).

The energy there is beautiful and light with lots of plants and eco-friendly products for purchase.

We warmly welcome you to our Open Day this Sunday 3-5pm to meet all the practitioners and to see our beautiful space.

Tuia Marama

I am Tuia Marama, of Samoan, English and Maori descent.

Ko touwhare toku maunga, Ko whatipatukahu toku awa, Ko ahuhukiterangi toku waka, Ko Ngati Whatua toku iwi.

I am mother to my son and sister to my six siblings. As a young girl I grew up with an older brother and sister and two younger sisters. My twin brothers were born when I was a teenager. I remember my older brother asking me to massage his back and he would pay me ten cents. So from an early age I began to massage.

I grew up in the country on farms where nature was my playground. I love to feel the primalness of connecting with the elements, whether it be a river, the ocean, digging in the garden or walking in the forest.

Although there were alot of fond memories of my childhood, I held a deep secret that kept me captive until my sisters and I broke the silence. I had grown up with a sexually abusive stepdad. The impact that this had on my life led me to my own healing journey to discover the gift that I am to this world, it has made me who I am today.

For years I numbed myself through drugs and alcohol. I wore an external mask that looked ok on the outside but inside I felt deeply unworthy. My low self-worth attracted dysfunctional relationships over and over again. I looked for love outside of myself to try and fill this empty void that I felt so strongly. I knew that to have sacred love, meant that I needed to be this sacred love. Pulled by a magnetising and compelling guidance, I knew there was a better life for me.

As I turned forty five I made a vow to myself that I no longer would struggle. My heart would heal. It was my time to step into my fullness, my power, to live a life of abundance and growth.

So the teachers arrived... sharing lessons in acceptance, awareness, grounding, emotional intelligence, expansiveness, trauma healing, sexual healing and most importantly love, safety and belonging. I am deeply grateful for the re-connection to the sacredness and blessings of my body, my spirit, my life... For the awareness and wisdom that I am embodying. As I continue to grow and expand in the infinite being that I am, I now offer my work as a healing bodyworker.

I am deeply passionate about transformation, growth and spirituality. I love to share what I have learnt along my way with you. I want to connect with the deeper layers of you that keep you numb to the full richness of who you truly are. To unveil the lies we have accepted about ourselves and reveal the hidden gems inside...

All healing journeys have a beginning and sometimes we don’t even know just how far we have come. Sometimes deep healing can happen in a conversation, in a two hour workshop, a weekend retreat or in an incomprehensible crisis.

In my work you get to choose the depths of where you want to go. There is a time for deep nourishment, for releasing, for growth and expansion...my invitation is to be in consent with your body and to only do what feels right for you and communicate this clearly.

Together with intention magic happens...

I invite you to celebrate all of your journey, develop that trust within yourself. Build safety within. Connect with the infinite love that is us and surrounds us... Create depth and meaning to your life. Feel your body, enjoy all of its gifts. Know that you are love, you are worthy and that you belong...
