HUG YOUR PET TODAY!!
We are living in a different world where our pets are so grateful for the time they have with us, and we are benefiting from their presence in our lives.
Psychologically, Emotional Support Animals (ESA)/pets help us to cope with feelings of anxiety or depression as we experience stress in our environment.
❤️
For those of us who have the luxury of securing in the safety of our own homes, we may be feeling a sense of social isolation and loneliness; but this is where we are thankful for our precious pets… Charlie, Hank, Izzy, Marly, (fill in blank of your pet’s name)…and the time they are at our side.
❤️
Seems whenever I lay down on the couch to read, Charlie immediately finds his place on my chest where our hearts merge and he provides a sense of comfort and connection. You can find him at my side as my accompanist when I play piano. He’s there as my best friend. 😻
❤️
ESAs have a sixth sense about reading our needs and knowing when we need extra care and touch. Tactile touch as we pet our furry friend helps ward off feelings of anxiety through connection. It eases our nervous system and releases endorphins that help us cope with the feelings of anxiety.
❤️
Additionally, as we spend time feeding, walking, playing, petting our pets, we focus on delivering compassion to our buddies and that helps to reduce our anxious thoughts.
❤️
Who is your furry friend and what is your favorite way to spend time together? Post a picture here I’d love to see your pet, aka BFF!!
❤️
