Sometimes this job is really tough, like when I find myself crying in a public bathroom, tough. Being a doula and advocate is super rewarding, but it is also a lot of work.
That is why I make time for JOY. like petting these goats. The fun I had two weekends ago holding and petting these goats ( something so out of the norm for me) still makes me smile today. To my doula sisters, make time for joy; it restores balance and helps heal the soul.

This Black Maternal Health Week, I had the opportunity to speak on WRTV6 about an issue close to my heart:

As a proud advocate for our community, I know how critical it is to shine a light on the disparities Black mothers face and to amplify the voices calling for change. The maternal health crisis is real, but so is the resilience, strength, and hope in our families and communities.

While this week provides a spotlight, the conversation doesn't end here—it’s a year-round commitment to advocacy, education, and action.
