So, what's the iftar at Squash all about on Wednesday?

It's for you if you'll be fasting. It's for you if you won't be fasting. It's for you if you're Muslim and for you if you're not. If you want to sit and eat with people you know or sit and eat with people you've never met. That's what it's about 😄

There'll be space for prayer if you're praying, water to break your fast with before we eat daal and rice with raita.... and then we'll be sharing the desserts that people have brought with them and drinking tea/coffee!

There'll be an open firepit outside, wudhu area, prayer mats, and it'll be busy!

Payment is by donation, with a suggested donation of between £5 and £10.... but if you can't afford to pay, nobody will ask you to pay ❤️

Donations will be split 50/50 between Habibti_Liverpool (thank you!) and the Soup it Forward project at Squash which means that anyone can come and get free soup and bread throughout the year, no questions asked.

Yes yes yes....

They're back! On the 28th March at Ullet Road Unitarian Church, from 4-7pm. Young Musicians for Peace is a gathering/collective of some gorgeous local young people who love to perform live - think guitar, keyboards, stunning vocals - for an in person audience.... plus, they're doing it for charity, with proceeds from tickets and refreshments sales going to Habibti Liverpool and Medical Aid for Palestinians ❤️

Buy tickets in our bio, or follow Young Musicians for Peace and follow the link in their bio.

Wishing everyone Ramadan Kareem from all at Habibti Liverpool ❤️

In this special week, where it's the lunar New Year and the beginning of Lent, wherever you are, we send you our warmest greetings!

08/02/2026

As we approach Ramadan 2026, the nursing and healthcare teams on the ground at the 4 public hospitals we support in Sana'a in Yemen, are already planning how to assist patients and their families during the fasting month - due to start around the 18th or 19th February ❤️

You can support a zakat-eligible family with cash for food, rent, transport costs with a donation of any amount - but for guidance, around £85 will provide food staples for a family of 4 for one month, or for £50 you can support one of the unsalaried nurses with transport costs for one month. Nurses have not received salary for many years now, with many coming to work to treat the children for expenses only.

The link to donate is in our bio, or please drop us a line to find out how to donate regularly or if you'd like to fundraise for the children.

Seasons greetings from Habibti Liverpool, to everyone.... those who celebrate Christmas and those who don't because it's not part of their faith , cultural or personal story or because it's a tough time of year if you're alone, or simply feel alone.

We'll be hanging out at
on Christmas Day from 12-2pm, so if you're around and fancy grabbing a warm, spiced apple juice round the fire or play board games, you're sooooo welcome to join us.

It's not about big statements, it's about gathering with others and maybe not saying much, or maybe chatting to someone you've not seen for a while. Food is free or by donation, with all donations shared between Habibti Liverpool - supporting healthcare for babies and children in Yemen - and Soup it Forward at Squash which means anyone can get a free soup and fresh bread for free all year round, no questions asked.

If you'd like to support Yemeni healthworkers directly, please follow the donation link below

"Really hard to find the words to describe what this trekking challenge in Cambodia was like.

The distance and terrain, even with ascending and descending the mountain, were manageable bit in 35 degree heat, jet lag and mosquitos really added a whole other dimension.

There were times I genuinely thought I couldn't continue, when my hands and arms swelled up so much I had to have my bracelet surgically removed, when the bucket shower in cold water just wasn't cutting it, but I did keep going. I kept going for everyone at Al-Sabeen Hospital, Al-Thawra Hospital, at Al-Kuwait and Republic Hospitals in Sana'a in Yemen.

For the incredible medics there, the babies, children and families who will benefit from the funds we send and continue to need the care that the hospitals provide.

I consider myself blessed to have been able to do this one small thing that will allow big things to happen in Yemen for these families... in a place I've never been to and for people I'll never meet"

Christiana, Habibti_Liverpool trustee

There's still time to support Christiana with a donation by following this link

Last month was the Squash Autumn Harvest Fundraiser - the 10th one - and it was truly special.

It's always special, tbh but there was something extra special about marking the 10th one, with the usual wit, sense of drama, anecdotes, and megalolz too. There were quiet moments of reflection on the destruction of seeds banks in the Occupied Territories of the West Bank in Gaza alongside marvelling at Malik's chili plants (surely the best looking plants in history) and locally produced produce as far as the eye can see.

It is notable that even in times when so many people don't have much if any cash to spare, a group of friends and family will still get together to bid on gorgeous items and that this effort can raise £3080 in a few hours.

This money will be shared between Merseyside African Caribbean Centre, Squash Soup it Forward Programme, Local Palestinian Seed Bank via Exeter Seed Bank, and us, Habibti_Liverpool.

A colossal thank you to everyone at Squash, to all the growers and makers who contributed to the auction and to everyone who showed up and joined the fun as always. Also, to the kitchen staff who were run off their feet....

Special shout outs to Anita, Clare, Becky, Jordan, Edi, Becky, Helen, Jackie, Fatima, Lis, Mariam, Tayieba, Amina, Saba, Grindl, Janet, Jordan, Malik and all the crew ######

Thank you to everyone who came along to our food sale yesterday . What a day!

Immaculate vibes, the best people and some seriously good food.

And the best bit? That £1115 was raised for the Pump It Up To £5k campaign, to purchase much needed syringe pumps for four hospitals across Sana’a.

See the impact we can make from halfway across the world? It’s astounding and inspiring.

Thanks in particular to our super volunteer . Love you ❤️
