Please read here for information about SAAT (Solimon Auricular Allergy Treatment) for Alpha-Gal and allergies!
Alpha-Gal is short for galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose, which is a carbohydrate found in all mammals except primates. It’s transferred to humans via ticks or other blood-sucking insects after they have bitten a cow, deer, or other mammal. Once a person gets this carbohydrate in their system, over time an allergy to mammalian products can develop, and all sorts of reactions can happen in response.
Symptoms of Alpha-Gal Allergy (“Alpha-Gal”) can range from mild to life threatening, including: nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; rashes; hives; fainting; dizziness; runny nose; headaches; rapid drop in blood pressure; inability to breathe; swelling of the throat/mouth; and more.
Sadly, because of the wide range of symptoms and the fact that they often occur as late as eight hours after exposure, Alpha-Gal often goes undiagnosed in many people - who then spend weeks, months, or years trying to figure out what’s wrong.
Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) is a style of acupuncture that has been shown clinically to be very effective in helping with the symptoms of Alpha-Gal. It was developed by Dr. Nader Soliman, an anesthesiologist and medical acupuncturist who has been performing this procedure going on two decades. Dr. Soliman has over 10 years of clinical trials that have shown SAAT to be effective in eliminating symptoms related to Alpha-Gal.
SAAT involves the insertion of a tiny 3-mm needle into the ear; it is inserted sideways so it can’t be felt to the touch. The needle is then covered with surgical glue and adhesives and is left in place for three to four weeks. While in, it usually can’t be felt.
For many people, symptoms of Alpha-Gal begin to subside while the needle is in place; for most, relief is noted by the time it is removed. While we never say we can cure Alpha-Gal Allergy, we can say that SAAT can help it into remission.
SAAT is ALSO effective in eliminating the symptoms of other allergies, including trees, weeds, grass, poison ivy/oak, cats, dogs, dust/dustmites, chemicals, latex, gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, seafood, and more.
Clare O’Nan, L.Ac., O.M.D., has been practicing acupuncture for over 20 years. She is certified in SAAT for Alpha-Gal and is the only board-certified licensed acupuncturist in Northern Mississippi.
Over the last 15 years in the Golden Triangle, Clare has helped thousands of people out of pain and discomfort and into greater freedom. Here’s what some of her patients have to say:
“I was so nervous at my first appointment, but Clare put me totally at ease. She explained everything and answered all of my many questions thoroughly. I would recommend her for anyone.”
“In the last five years, I have seen close to 10 doctors and specialists, I have been tested for many ailments, given so many medications that caused side effects, and still no answers or relief. I finally saw Clare O’Nan at Starkville Acupuncture, and for the first time in years I am feeling so much better. If you have inflammatory issues, MCAS, Alpha-Gal, please give her a chance! We are only getting started and I only regret I didn’t come sooner!”
“Thank you, Clare O’Nan, you are a true Godsend! I am so grateful you devoted your life to learning how to heal people. You offer hope for a better life.”
“I’m so frickin’ amazed I could almost cry. I feel like a different person…you don’t realize what pain is doing to you until it’s gone.”
“I wish I could carry Clare and her needles with me at all times.”
