Rest is your superpower

You’ll spend months planning your birth preferences, the gender reveal, the nursery… but hardly any time planning your recovery.

Have the conversation with your partner or support network before baby arrives. Be honest about what those first weeks should really look like. Fewer visitors. More rest. Sleep whenever you can. And give yourself permission to feel all the feelings that come after birth.
Your healing matters just as much as your baby’s arrival.

If you’d like more honest advice, gentle support and practical tips from postpartum professionals, visit our website and sign up to our newsletter. We’d love to support you through this season.

Why do I still look pregnant months after giving birth?

If you’ve noticed a gap, doming, or that “still look pregnant” feeling months after having your baby, this could be abdominal separation, also known as Diastasis Recti.

Here’s a simple check you can do at home:

Lie on your back with knees bent. Gently lift your head and shoulders slightly off the floor, like the start of a crunch. Place your fingers just above your belly button and press down softly.

If you can feel a gap or your fingers sink in deeply, you may have some separation.

This is common after pregnancy, but knowing what’s going on is the first step to healing it properly.

C-Section Partners: Do This

She just had major abdominal surgery and brought your baby into the world. Recovery is not “business as usual”.

One of the biggest things mums tell us? They feel like they still have to do everything. The cooking. The laundry. The hosting. The night shifts. All while healing.

You can change that.

Protect her rest. Take over the house. Lift the baby to her. Keep visitors short. Remind her she’s doing enough. Your support can be the difference between a draining recovery and a steady, supported one.

Tag or send this to your C-section partner so they know exactly how to show up.

Mums, what support meant the most to you? Tell us in the comments below.

There is so much about C-section recovery that women only find out the hard way.

1. Early scar care really matters. It gives your scar the best chance of healing well and can help prevent issues later on.

2. Rest is not a luxury. It is essential. In those early weeks, doing the bare minimum is often exactly what your body needs.

3. You should also be shown how to move, cough and sneeze properly after a C section. Small adjustments can make a big difference to pain and healing.

4. Your pelvic floor can still be affected, even if you had a C-section. Rehab can be beneficial for all women after birth, however you delivered your baby.

5. And scar massage? It is non-negotiable. It can help with pain, itching, tightness and overhang. You should not be struggling with scar related issues for months or even years after birth.

Our online postnatal recovery courses cover all of this and more. They are self-paced, easy to follow and created by two postpartum experts who genuinely care about helping you recover fully.

The one product we always recommend for C-section scar recovery.

Silicone patches are designed to support scar healing by helping to reduce itching, sensitivity and discomfort, while also improving the overall appearance of your scar over time. Consistent use really does matter, especially in the early months of healing.

We’ve tried a few different brands and Scarban has honestly stood out for us. It adheres well without feeling harsh on the skin, stays in place throughout the day and removes easily without that uncomfortable pulling some other strips cause. It also fully covers the scar area and offers 50+ UV protection, which is so important because scars are especially sensitive to sun exposure.

If you’d like to try it, you can order your Scarban Recovery Kit via our website. Simply head to the Shop tab and click on C-section Recovery Products. Use the discount code the360mama at checkout to receive 10% off your order.
