May is National Mental Health Awareness month and this week is National Prevention Week sponsored by SAMHSA. In support, communities like ours are joining around the nation to be a united voice. Prevention organizations are devoted to their work in raising awareness on the importance of substance use prevention and positive mental health.

Due to potential for severe weather on Saturday we are canceling the Drug Take Back booth at the courthouse. If you have any items you were planning on dropping by, please utilize 1 of the 3 available drop boxes within our community. 1 is located at the Sheriff's Office, 1 is located within the county courthouse and 1 is available located outside of Safe Haven Crisis Center.

Yesterday was a busy day for our team as they brought awareness of the Opioid epidemic to the ATU- Ozark Campus and conducted life saving Narcan trainings. Thank you to the Criminal Justice and Practical Nursing classes for hosting us for the day and helping us in sharing the knowledge.

Our team will be participating in the semi-annual National Drug Take Back Day on April 27th. Our tent will be set up on the Johnson County courthouse lawn. We will be collecting any unneeded or expired medications to be turned in for disposal. Come on out to see us and say hi! Peer support specialists will be on hand to answer any questions about treatment and recovery options.

Just wanted to take a minute this morning for a big shout out and thank you to the Ozone community. Last night they welcomed and hosted 2 of our team members as they brought information and training on the usage of Narcan.

1 year ago, JCORE Trustee Class 1 began with 2 individuals that wanted to change their lives..... today we celebrated them as they graduated the year long program. Congratulations to you both! We are proud of all the accomplishments you have made and the steps you continue to take.
