Last week we had the pleasure of learning about Therapeutic Listening from our very own Occupational Therapist, Carlie! ✨

Therapeutic Listening® is a specific, evidence-informed approach used mostly by occupational therapists (especially those working in sensory integration) to help improve a person’s sensory processing, attention, communication, and emotional regulation through carefully modified music. 🎶

Goals of therapeutic listening can include: improving focus and attention 🧠, supporting speech and language development 🗣️, reducing sensory defensiveness (sound sensitivity, touch sensitivity) 👂🤚, enhancing coordination and motor planning, & helping with emotional regulation. 😊😞😠😜

It’s typically used with children who have sensory processing challenges, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, or learning differences, but adults with sensory or neurological difficulties may benefit too.

Hello! My name is Laura Krause and I am the new Office Specialist here at Interact Therapy! My hometown is Wadena, MN and my current home for the last 5 years has been here in Fargo — I am absolutely loving it!

I graduated from NDSU in 2024 with a Bachelor’s in University Studies with an emphasis on Business Administration and couldn’t be more excited to join the office team here at Interact!

I am very passionate about helping/assisting others with their everyday needs and meeting daily goals! I am thrilled to be in the pediatric setting and welcome you all when you first come into the clinic!

Outside of work, my hobbies include photography, interior design, spending time with my dog, Ruby, playing volleyball, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling to new places!
