I recently received my indigenous Filipino name: G*t Puno Magtanggol.

🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Rough translation ~ “Honorable leader, fierce defender”

G*t is an honorary title for someone committed to goodness/ wholeness.

Puno = Leader, ruler, chieftain (also literally means “tree”)

Magtanggol = Fierce protector or defender

Rolando Gomez Comon who performed the divination and ceremony translated my name as “Ruler and Defender of the Light to Mankind.”

I received this name from the diwatang Ampu Nagsalad, who stood up to claim me in ceremony space. He is the creator “Weaver” deity of the Pala’wan tribe. Acknowledgement to the deity himself for the honor bestowed onto me, and the Pala’wan people for keeping his wisdom and legacy alive.

It’s a tremendous honor that I don’t take lightly… and I also want to share it because it’s an important part of my journey and identity.

As destiny would have it, at the same time I received this name, I was one session into getting this sleeve for my Filipina warrior grandmothers (ancestors).

And as you can see from my tattoo, it’s as if I already consciously knew about my relationship with Ampu Nagsalad as the basket weaving is prominently featured in my sleeve.

I also love that people tell me that my sleeve looks like a shield. Another wonderful synchronicity after being named fierce defender.

Deep gratitude to the amazing for this ceremonial sleeve. After we were done we looked at each other like… wow… and said, “it’s not insignificant” 🤣

Praise to the powers who uphold life, the ancestors who share their goodness, the wisdom keepers and all of us committed to creating more goodness… ⏳💃🏽♾️⚔️❤️‍🔥📿

A couple of months ago, I went through a weird time where I was having an unusual number of deja vu experiences, vivid dreams and journeys/ meditations.

In one of those journeys, I could remember before I was born. I couldn't quite remember who I was with or where I was... but I could remember how I felt.

Mostly I could feel an enormous amount of hope and love radiating in my heart. My heart was big and bright and burning, and it felt amazing.

I was preparing to be born and emotionally ready and excited to do the thing.

Then I told myself to remember that I had everything I needed inside of my heart to achieve what I wanted to achieve during my lifetime.

That image/ memory has stayed with me and continues to return to my conscious mind. Grateful to before-Sasha Sasha for that reminder.

I remember now. ❤️‍🔥

Sometimes we learn to look outside of ourselves for truth, wisdom, authority and grace.

Dominant culture and dogmatic belief systems can wreak havoc on our ability to trust our sense of something (ie, follow our intuition).

It is possible to unlearn this and rediscover the goodness, wisdom and sovereignty that is inherently within us.

It can be a messy and layered process, but it's possible.

May the seeds of self-discovery and connecting to our own sources of goodness continue to grow.

Ancestors can show up as individuals or sometimes as a collective spirit or lineage.

These days, I’m interacting a lot with my mother’s mothers ancestors who come from the Visayan islands of the Philippines.

As a collective, they are physically strong, deeply loving, warrior women who care primarily about the health and vitality of their community and are committed to serving others.

For literally thousands of years, these women have cultivated deep caring and the physical stamina to deliver that care. I’m so grateful for that capacity as it's a legacy I proudly continue. I can often sense when my mother’s mothers people are around because I hear their drum circle and I can feel their exuberance.

My ancestral guide on this lineage has helped me to cultivate unconditional love and strength deep within myself. She is steadfast in her love for me. She holds me when I’m in my wounded inner child. She encourages me when she sees potential. She reminds me to dance and increase my capacity for joy.

In my morning meditation today, I could feel thousands (millions?) of light beings carrying fierce love and protection swarming this plane to restore order and balance.

I could feel the prayers of so many people and other beings who I don’t know personally… their prayers were landing as pure potential for healing and manifestations of unconditional love, compassion and cosmic balance.

And also that some of them are incarnating as humans, to be the change makers and curse breakers… and to call back the love, compassion and cosmic balance that we know is possible.

I felt this feeling of relief and renewal wash over me … that our prayers are heard and we have what we need to restore the balance.
