Job of the Week: Specialist Practitioner - Op COURAGE (South West Region)

Are you passionate about supporting Veterans to access the mental health care they deserve? Op COURAGE is looking for a Specialist Practitioner to join the team covering Plymouth, Cornwall and Devon.

In this role, you’ll:
• Work directly with Veterans and their families, offering skilled engagement, assessment and support
• Help individuals navigate services and access timely, appropriate care
• Collaborate with colleagues across the wider Op COURAGE pathways
• Work flexibly through a mix of online, telephone and face‑to‑face contact
• Be part of a supportive, committed team making a real difference

We’re recruiting a Highly Specialist Learning Disabilities Dietitian to join our new Learning Disability & Autism inpatient service in Bristol, opening in 2026.

You’ll support adults with complex needs, work within a caring MDT, and help shape a service built around people with lived experience.

You’ll also be welcomed into our trust-wide Nutrition & Dietetics team, giving you a strong professional network and ongoing support.

Celebrating 58 years of NHS service! 💙

One of our staff members has just retired after an extraordinary 58 years in the NHS. Starting as a nurse cadet, they began their journey with Salisbury Health Care before joining AWP at its creation in 2001.

From training as a theatre nurse, moving into mental health, witnessing huge changes in care, pay and practice, and working in wards with hundreds of beds. Along the way, they built lifelong friendships and made a lasting difference to countless patients.

One of their longest and most rewarding roles was in ECT, where seeing patients improve kept them inspired. Please join us in celebrating this remarkable career and wishing them a joyful, well‑earned retirement.

We’re looking for a motivated, compassionate and organised administrator to join our team at Blackberry Hill Hospital. If you’re friendly, proactive and ready for a new challenge, this could be the perfect next step.
