It's one of my life's passion projects - getting the message of ART to all! Pondering death teaches me about living. I have learned that to honor life, I must also honor death, that's why we're bringing the Mexican Dia de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) tradition to StormWater Studios. Not only will we build a large Dia de los Mu***os Altar for our community to remember their losses, but we will hold workshops and lectures to deepen the public's understand of this timeless ritual. But recognizing that death is a natural part of the process of living is not something most of us want to face. It is hard to come to terms with the idea that death isn’t something to be feared but is a reminder to celebrate the life that was lived, to celebrate the life we are living.
The budget for hosting last year's public event was $10,000. Our coffers need replenishing. I know there are literally thousands of good causes competing for your charitable giving dollars, but I hope you will choose to help us make a difference in people's lives.

11:00 Closing Ceremony today at StormWater. The mandala is complete, consecrated and ready to be dispersed. Dress warmly, after the ceremony we will walk (driving is ok too) to the river for final puja sand dispersion.
