Wilson, II was born July 28, 1960 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Yvonne and Judge Calvin T. He received his early education in Philadelphia, graduating from The William Penn Charter School in 1978. Dr. Wilson then matriculated through Duke University, receiving a B.S.E in Biomedical Engineering. After graduating from Duke University in 1982, Dr. Wilson entered the University of Pittsburgh School
of Medicine where he was fortunate enough to train under such noted physicians as Dr. Thomas Starzl, who pioneered the surgical procedure of liver transplantation, Dr. Henry Bahnson, who performed the first successful heart-lung transplant and Dr. Mark Ravitch, who is considered the “father of stapling” in current surgical procedures. It was at the University of Pittsburgh that Dr. Wilson realized his love of surgery and ultimately chose to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed his residency and training at the U. Air Force Medical Center-Wright Patterson and Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Wilson has numerous achievements in the field of medicine and research. He is author or co-author of multiple papers since beginning his medical career at Duke University. Because of personal witness of his parents failing health over the years, due in large part to poor lifestyle choices, Dr. Wilson developed a love and commitment for Preventive Medicine and Fitness. After seven years as a partner with OB/GYN Associates of Dover, Dr. Wilson felt compelled to walk a path not yet traveled. He left the comfort of his OB career and opened Wilson Gynecology and Fitness, P.A. In his current practice at Wilson Gynecology and Fitness, Dr. Wilson has been able to combine his two professional loves-gynecological surgery and preventive medicine/fitness. He is a weight management specialist (bariatrician) and has worked with professional athletes and entertainers to develop nutritional, exercise, and supplement regimens. The practice also has a strong emphasis on bio-identical hormonal therapy. In addition to his illustrious medical career, Dr. Wilson has become a valued and respected community leader. In 1999, he was appointed by Governor Thomas Carper to the Delaware Health Fund Advisory Committee. In 2001, he was also appointed by Mayor James Hutchison to the Mayor’s Executive Advisory Council. In 2006, he was appointed by Governor Minner to the Board of Trustees of Delaware State University. Wilson, II is a member of many community and national organizations. He is most proud of his memberships and active involvement in the National Eagle Scout Association, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Dr. Wilson has been married for twenty years to Dr. S. Monet Sifford-Wilson, a Board Certified General Internist and Director of Diabetes and Obesity for a large pharmaceutical corporation. He is extremely proud of his two children, Jessica Lauren, age 18 and Calvin T.”Chipper”, age 16. Although the practice of medicine is extremely important to Dr. Wilson, his ultimate goal in life is to live a Christian life and walk the path that God has patterned for him. Currently, he is building a respected and visible electronic commerce business in which he assists others in achieving financial freedom. In addition, he is a founding partner of The Next Level, a results improvement company that coaches individuals and corporations to optimize performance in both the personal and professional realms. The Next Level’s focus is on working with professional clients and institutions to maximize their company’s value by assisting them in identifying and implementing custom-tailored leadership, management, sales, supervisory, strategic planning, customer service, and time management processes within their organization. In doing so, Dr. Wilson knows that he will improve the quality of life, not only for his current patients, but also for generations to come.
