DENTAL ASSISTANT

We are looking for a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisting with various dental procedures, taking x-rays, and providing chair side support to the dentist. They should be knowledgeable in infection control protocols and have excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral hygiene practices. Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.

Duties:
- Provide chair side assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- take dental x-rays and performing dental radiography procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care

Experience:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant
- Must be EFDA and Radiology Certified
- Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials
- Familiarity with dental software preferably Dentrix
- Experience working with Cerec or willingness to learn
- Proficient in taking dental x-rays and performing dental radiography procedures
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus

Skills:
- Proficient in dental assisting techniques, including infection control, medical imaging, vital signs, and aseptic technique
- Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures

Fisher Dental, a single doctor dental practice is in need of a Hygienist with an amazing personality who works hard and is a team player! We are a purpose-driven family owned dental practice, focused on providing expert care & building long term relationships with our patients.

About the Position:

Our team is losing a hardworking and very skilled Hygienist due to moving out of the area. Her shoes will be tough to fill, so we are searching for a unique candidate who shares our values. Our hygienists are proud to take part in thorough, comprehensive diagnosis & treatment. We are passionate about understanding each patient’s unique treatment needs & tailoring patient care to meet them. Not only do we pay close attention to proper diagnosis & treatment, but we also focus on overall health. For instance, we might help a patient understand the link between systemic illness & periodontal disease, we might discuss how certain medications lead to xerostomia & how xerostomia can exacerbate dental caries, we might even discuss patients dietary habits & how they relate to dental caries. Our hygienists understand the need for patient education. Our hygienists are valued providers whose professional role is to coordinate with Dr. Fisher to provide top-notch care to every patient.

Responsibilities:

Although we have two full-time amazing Dental Assistants who are willing and able to help you when available, we do not have hygiene specific assistants. Our hygienists are responsible for setting up/sterilizing their operatory, taking radiographs, helping with sterilization, and sitting in with Dr. Fisher during clinical exams.

Qualifications/Expectations:

Oregon RDH active & current License

Competent & Confident delivering Local Anesthesia

Experience with Dentrix Software (preferred, not a requirement)

We offer competitive benefits after 90 days including: 401(k) with employer capped match, employee discounts, Holiday pay, PTO & sick leave. We also offer a monthly bonus based on practice performance. Wages are competitive & dependent upon experience.

Schedule:
