Join us in two weeks for the NPIAP webinar, "Shear Management in Clinical Practice: The Role of Advanced Foam Technology" on March 18 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM CT: https://bit.ly/4kEGI14

Our expert host, Alicia Smith, PT, DPT, NCS, CWS, LSSGB, will examine key factors in selecting foam dressings for pressure injury prevention helping attendees:
▪ Identify key attributes of multilayer foam dressings that influence their effectiveness in preventing pressure injuries.
▪ Explain how the foam dressing mechanism of action reduces shear force, and why this is important for protecting vulnerable areas.
▪ Apply insights from clinical practice, understanding how advanced dressing technology can help minimize tissue stress and improve patient outcomes.

Join us as we highlight our valued Corporate Advisory Council Members! This month we are excited to feature Bruin Biometrics.

Pressure injuries have no place in modern healthcare. Bruin Biometrics applies an objective, biology-based approach to detect clinically actionable tissue damage before it’s visible—enabling earlier, targeted interventions that help care teams achieve and sustain zero preventable pressure injuries.

Bruin Biometrics is the inventor, manufacturer, and scientific leader behind sub-epidermal moisture (SEM) measurement and the Provizio® SEM Scanner—the first medical device designed to identify clinically actionable tissue damage before it becomes visible. The company is supported by an experienced clinical, scientific, and operational leadership team based in the U.S. and UK.

The Bruin Biometrics platform includes the Provizio SEM Scanner and PIPPA® (Pressure Injury Prevention Personal Assistant):

▪ Provizio SEM Scanner enables early identification of pressure injury risk and supports data-driven clinical decision-making to guide timely, targeted interventions.
▪ PIPPA is a cloud-based digital solution that integrates SEM data with other clinical inputs to provide real-time visibility into patient skin and tissue health, track progression over time, and integrate with EMRs—supporting scalable, system-wide prevention workflows.

NPIAP

The National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) is an independent not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to the prevention and management of pressure injuries. Formed in 1986, the NPIAP Board of Directors is composed of leading experts from different health care disciplines— all of whom share a commitment to the prevention and management of pressure injuries. The NPIAP serves as a resource to health care professionals, government, the public, and health care agencies; and welcomes and encourages the participation of those interested in pressure injury issues through utilization of NPIAP educational materials, participation at national conferences, and support of efforts in public policy, education and research.

The NPIAP, assisted by multiple corporations and organizations, has become an internationally recognized entity. The collaboration of professionals, corporations, and governmental agencies offers a unique model for addressing major healthcare issues. The European Pressure Injury Advisory Panel and the Japanese Society of Pressure Ulcers have adapted the NPIAP model in establishing their organizations.
